The NOMATA label?

Postby jrnyjetster » Wed Jun 04, 2008 11:05 pm

Is NOMATA LLC Journey's label or is it the manufacturer/distributor for WalMart music exclusives? Just curious.

I notice it's very prominent over the new package whereas that wasn't so much the case during previous post perry releas, which given the expiration of the 10-year agreement that was in place total control of everything band related has finally defaulted back to Neal?

Nope. That's not it. It's because Perry can't face them after all he's done.

Say what you want, but the proof is all right there. What kind of person that has nothing to hide screens everything through lawyers, initiates gag orders, does scripted interviews exclusively, and only associates himself with handpicked "legacy preservers?" At any rate, Steve seems happy having moved on from music and Neal and Jon seem happy continuing to tour and record. All parties are doing well. I guess that's all that counts. 8)

That predated TBF so I chose to exclude it. Post TBF I don't think he could face them face to face in a private setting.

forgive me, i don't seem to know very much about all this behind-the-scenes stuff. i need to get caught up. can some of you expert insiders answer a few questions for me?

red, tell us about this "10-year agreement." where did you hear about this? what are the details?

sj, did sp or one of his lawyers tell you sp initiates gag orders? is it like a one-way gag order? was the GQ interview scripted? did alex pappademas tell you that? who are these "legacy preservers" you speak of?

The same people that seem to know about Perry's gag order also have said there is a non-disclosure agreement between Journey and Steve Augeri. Did Steve Perry initiate that one as well?

What amazes me is the thought that anyone here could possibly think Steve Perry and/or his reps somehow were the first to ever dream up such things. Unless someone can explain otherwise, I have always believed and will always believe that gag orders and non-disclosures and all that crap is normal course. I signed one last week for some database work I am doing. I have signed them for the past 20 years. I didn't think to check if the NCA was copyrighted by the landmark legal mind of Steve Perry.

By the way. I have nothing to hide from one of my ex's. But based on how she treated me and things said to mutual friends, I will never let her speak another word to me. So who knows?

Bandmembers have said it in interviews including the recent GQ one. This site has reported on it.

ok, so what you're trying to say is:
you do not know the details of this gag order
the GQ interview was not scripted
the legacy preservers are the people at sony
