Just curious to know if anyone's local radio stations have been spinning Never Walk Away and/or After All These Years in regular rotation? I have a short cruise to work and I usually pop in a CD if I feel like jamming, so I haven't listened to a whole lot of radio lately...I absolutely can't stand our CLASSIC ROCK stations here in South Florida....they've become completely STAGNANT and never want to play any new stuff, because I guess they assume their audience doesn't want to hear it?? :?

I rarely listen to rock radio anymore, so I've no clue.

I wouldn't know, rarely listen to the radio.

HOWEVER I was with family like a week ago, and the local classic rock station was on at the time. The DJ played a Journey classic (I think it was Lights) and then talked up Revelation and Arnel for a minute.

No - not a word.

Interestingly enough, the classic rock station is playing a lot of Journey lately. Not only that, the band is performing in the Tampa area in July and the radio spots are using Steve Perry's voice to reel 'em in!

Wonder what good 'ole Neal thinks about them cookies? :D

I have been from Chicago to Green Bay twice in the past 8 days. Heard nothing from the Chicago, Milwaukee or Green Bay stations.

We have one station here that plays NWA quite frequently.

Yup, a lot here in the City By The Bay on 107.7 The Bone.

3 stations (all classic rock stations) play NWA fairly regularly...98.5 WNCX in Cleveland, 97.5 WONE in Akron, and 102.9 in Youngstown. I've been trying like hell to get AATY played on the AC stations to no luck. Doesn't matter now...I got my CD to keep me ROCKIN"!! Just wish more people would get to hear AATY!

I'm in So Cal and listen to KLOS and XM. Nothing yet. I thought since 3 Doors Down was getting a lot of airplay for their new album and have the number one album, they might play NWA here and there. Nothing. I heard about all of the TV stuff and the GQ stuff here. I have not heard one single thing outside of that off this board. I would have never known unless I was really looking for it.

I'm with AJ, I've heard Never Walk Away on Cleveland's 98.5 WNCX... one of the few times I happened to turn it on. Always exciting to hear :)

I heard "Send her my love" loud on KOST in a thrift store today...surprised 'cuz they always play Religious or Spanish. :) Caught "Separate Ways" video by chance on VH1 classic channel yesterday morning. No, haven't heard any new stuff on radio.

Angie, is your station being encouraged to play it (as in payola), or are you playing it because you're getting many requests from your listeners?

Btw, what station do you work for and what city?

If I heard a new Journey song on the radio in my area...I would probably go into cardiac arrest!

Unfortunately, no new Journey song has even come close to airwaves here since When You Love a Woman.

Apparently (this was posted on the official forum) overzealous fans are being so obnoxious about requesting it incessantly that stations are actually threatening to take the singles out of rotation.

Is it just me or does that seem like backwards logic? :? Aren't stations supposed to like continued requests (unless of course it's the same 5 or 10 fucking people  )?

I heard AATY on one of Comcast's music channels last weekend. Other than that, nada.

NWA has been played a half dozen times by the classic rock station here in LR. However, only on certain shows...not like it's in general rotation or anything that I know of.

later~

Are Azoff management/WalMart actively involved in pushing these singles to radio :?:
