Agreed. Track # 3 will be blasted the next couple days while the crisp chorus will be blasting through my sun-roof!

Agreed!!!

And after further listens, I have to disagree slightly with
Drew's review...

I think the "flow" of the album is really good.
Drew questioned following NWA with Sunshower
but, again, after more listens it really works well.
Like WIX mentioned, Sunshower has a Departure feel to it.

And then we get CFTB, WD and FITH all in a row!
AWESOME!

Hell, the only stinker for me is putting all the brakes on
with AATY

And What I Needed?
Can anyone else hear this song sitting alongside
Winds Of March on Infinity???
The chord progressions and dark emotions sound
like the 2 were written in the same week

I am LOVING that song too!!!

Change For The Better has emerged as my early favorite. Followed by the ending jam session on Wildest Dream, featuring Deen Castronovo tearing apart the drum kit. Good God Deen, you absolutely slay on this album.

NO DOUBT. To me, it's just the right mix of heavy to slow tunes and I'm glad that they didn't put the power ballads second (sunshower works there- Love that note at the 3:00 mark! ). It would've killed the mood. Not since Frontiers has one of their albums had just the right collection of tunes in the right order. Since then, it's been too many slow tunes. Not on Revelation.

Love Arnel's pronunciation of the word "Better" in CFTB. Cool.

Can't remember the last time and album put me in such an upbeat mood. Even though NWA sounds like other songs, it's a great album opener and it just sets the pace.

My ex and my daughter were doing a road trip last week and I guess NWA came on the radio. They didn't say who it was, but they're both going "Dang, this sounds like Journey". That's good to hear.

Now they're both pissed off at me because I didn't tell them about the show in September, the new guy, or anything. I just bought tickets for my wife and I thinking my daughter wouldn't wanna go with 'the old man'. I'm in the doghouse.....

What were we talking about?? Sorry, it's Friday, 7:40 AM and I'm already a Mt. Dew into my morning.

I love the halting, stuttering 1-word parts (with the chugging rythym guitar chords and bass in between) of the verse that include Pineda's on top of/mixed with keys/synth/guitar stabs:

"TAKE!!!.........TIIIIIMMEEEE!!!!!"

Yep, that's what drew me to this song when the samples first came out - made me want to hear what else was in store.

It was the song I was most looking forward to hearing, and has been my favorite since I heard the full versions.

Yeah, that's a cool new move by the band. Makes the song.

Me three. If they hadn't done that, this might've sounded like another "bonus".

I expected AP to do well but am surprised how good a ROCK singer he comes off as.

Agreed! CFTB is an amazing song! The balance between rockers and ballads and how the album is set up is really perfect!

CFTB is the best track on the album for me. Neal better include this one on tour or I'm gonna be upset. :D

It's like FAO Schwartz in here. You guys have finally discovered what some of us told you is a diamond in the rough.

This song kicks ass.

This is definitely one of my top three favorites on the new album.

A hard-rockin' feel-good song with interesting instrumental parts and great subject matter.

I can't get enough of it.

This song is truly an epic.
Reminds me of the original version of "Faith in the Heartland" in how it goes on forever, flagrantly defying all hope of Top 40 radioplay.
Journey shouldn't be afraid to experiment like this more often.

You talking about that distinct rasp he puts on it? If so, killer and nearly impossible to mimic.

CFTB is a fuckin great song. They should have called it Escape Pt II (Change for the Better), this song sounds just like Escape with its riffing, synthing, "shout it out loud" refrains and upbeat message. So good. I wish this was on the live DVD.
