He's already DONE solo and group recordings.
He is fully aware of how good he has it with Journey, appreciates his bandmates,
and he isn't about to fuck them over by getting into anything that will distract him
from what's at hand:

Protecting Jurney's legacy, and helping Journey bring us new music.

Arnel's getting better and better with Jon's guidance, and the future
for Journey fans looks incredibly promising, if the songwriting holds up,
and if Journey has learned to zealously protect its lead singer's voice.
