Off Topic Question for Musicians about PC Studios

My cheap PC studio went to hell a couple of weeks ago and I was needing advice on what I should get next.
I'm not someone who could use Cakewalk, or anything too advance, I don't know enough about it, but does anyone have any suggestions for a mid-priced super easy to use PC studio?
I had Music Match a few years ago, and it was easy to use, multiple tracks, built-in effects, but it crapped out quickly too.
So, any suggestions would be appreciated.
I need something that I can put down vocals and with at least 16 track capability.
Thanks.

Keep bumping. There's a few musicians in here but they don't all check in every day. Good luck.

Why no Cakewalk? I've had great results with it, though getting it up and running can be a freakin' nightmare...

Isn't there a Protools Lite that isn't as expensive as the full version.? Depending on what your trying to do look at Fruit Loops also. That is what my son uses.

Fruity Loops.
Fruit Loops is a cereal. And a damned good one!

EXACTLY! It takes up WAY too much space and it's not real user friendly.
But thank you.

Thank you Gunbot. I'll look into that for samples.

I don't have much space problem, but just to get it so you can record new stuff while you're listening to the other tracks you've recorded... man, you need a freakin' Cakewalk Decoder Ring. Drives me nuts. By the time I'm ready to go, inspiration has gone out the window.

Yep, I have enough problems paying attention as it is. LOL
