They axed Escape to put in this new song, which I have been waiting for them to play live.

This is a pretty awesome setlist!
I have a feeling they might be rotating many, if not all, of
the new songs throughout the european tour just to
see how well they are working Live.
By the time the US tour starts, they'll know what works
and what doesn't.

They would just about all work. However, because of time restrictions, they probably will be only able to squeeze in 3 new songs. 4 tops and that would be ballsy. Hopefully, they follow up the Heart/Cheap Trick tour with short theatre tour where they could play up to 6 new songs.

They should try and do some sort of live webcast from an intimate venue and play the whole album.

Glad to see they're putting new stuff in the setlist, but instead of Escape, I'd rather see them dump Lights, AWYWI, or DSB.

with all the airplay DSB has received from the Sopranos, it would be just totally moronic for them to dump that song at this point--unless they just WANT to crucify themselves.

Losing Lights for another big hit (Girl Can't Help It, I'll Be Alright Without You, Who's Crying Now, etc) wouldn't be a bad thing however--or at least rotating the songs back and forth.

I doubt you will see AWYWI dropped. It's one of the few big rock singalongs that they have, and crowd participation songs usually stay in the setlist for just that reason--crowd participation!

WITS could use a well-deserved break however. Nice to see LTS get a rest.

Good stuff - but i think Arnel would be great at The Girl Can't Help It and would love to hear that. Wonder how many songs they tried out? 100?

Good to see the Majestic trotted back out once again as an opener.

The guys have an album at the top of the charts, I am glad they are playing 6 new songs.

Whenever an album is successful, usually an artisit will play the new songs.

Maybe they are keeping an eye on the forum and seeing that a lot people have been saying they should play Where Did I Lose Your Love, and wanted them to dump Escape. We all know they lurk here from time to time to see what the "true" fans are saying. That said, I agree that they are probably rotating some to see what works best live. During the Arrival tour they played virtually every track when they toured Asia, but certainly didn't come close to that on the US dates. They are probably being nice to Arnel and letting him sing his Journey songs like they did with SA in Asia... Once the tour is over, he'll be lucky to play a couple them each night as they go back to the dirty dozen and Perry era tunes.

EDGE OF THE BLADE IS ON THE SET LIST? Might need a ticket to Hammersmith as well as Cardiff.

I didn't say I thought they WOULD drop any of those, it would just be my personal preference, and Escape is one of my favorite live tunes.

This is awesome that they're actually playing new tunes... I'm pumped... great work fellas.

Jeezus, it's about damn time they grew balls. I might not see the same show I've seen since 1998. Maybe these 5 star tickets will be worth it?

They can play anything they like in the UK. Last year they even played a track from the jazz-fusion era. It'll be interesting to see how many new or unusual songs are played on the US leg of the tour. That'll be the real test of whether or not they've grown some balls....

They're going to have a smaller set over here because of the two opening bands. With that said, I think they may be trying the new songs out over on your side of the big pond to see how well received they are. You good people, in many respects, are better fans in general than what they get over here, so they may feel they have the leeway to try some experiments, so to speak.

This almost mandates that you play a handful of songs from it. Second, they saw what happened to their last singer that didn't play enough originals (Augeri). His voice got fried. Allowing Arnel the luxury of singing 4 (or more) of his songs is a lot less wear and tear on the chords.

Lastly, at 5 minutes per song a 95 minute set gives you 16-19 songs. Play The Dirty Dozen (11-12), 4 new songs and 2-3 "deeper" cuts.

Very true, but that hasn't held them back from adding a bunch a new songs when they are trying to promote a new release. Those off years is when they go back to all the old tunes. The Arrival Tour and Generations tours did have 3+ new songs each night... for the most part.

They always have in the past, I call it "Bleed The Vocal Cords Tour II .When they did new stuff in the states, people would either sit down, take a piss, or get more beer. I hope it wont be this way this time around.

But that's the thing, though. Look at the Arrival tour. On ANY given night we got treated to 2-3 songs off of it. IF THAT. SURE we'd get the "deeper cuts" like Chain Reaction, but there were very few and far between. They don't really have the luxury to play the "new" stuff anymore. The fans want to hear the GH. They took a HUGE shot in the dark with JSS by playing so many obscure tracks...but since they weren't the headliner, and 70-80% of the audience was there to see Leppard...Who gives a shit? Ya know. It'll be another GH tour with 2 or 3 new tracks and 2 or 3 "deep" tracks from something like Frontiers or Escape. If I'm wrong...I owe you a coke.
