Journey and Arnel's story will be featured in Time Magazine per The Unofficial Fan Site of Arnel Pineda. What a good promotion again for the band if indeed it is true.

While perusing that web site, I found this interesting clip...

I don't know how true this is but the story seems to be that Arnel was "ambushed" on the way to buy shampoo (that must explain the towel on his shoulder) and was requested by the neighbors to sing in a beat-up karaoke. I must admit, he's down-to-earth.

The half-naked guy taking a picture with his raised-up cell phone sort'a like kissed Arnel at 1:12. WTF!!!

grimlocked,

I think that's from Arnel's stay in Batangas, 4 hours south of Manila,
in April of this year.

That "half-naked guy" didn't kiss Arnel, LOL...
He whispered his thanks ("Salamat, idol"), into Arnel's ear,
so it wouldn't get picked up by the karaoke's microphone,
and ruin the song ...or Arnel's score on the machine.

:)

I didn't realize Arnel had kids and one of them is basically grown!

Arnel looks amazingly young for his age. I hope his voice ages as well as his looks.

It's cool to see in the video how he was really into his singing, giving it his all (good choice of song by the way, not too strenuous for a side gig). I've noticed how he was really attentive to the lyrics and how he finished the whole song instead of just singing 1 paragraph. Man, he must really love the music. Props!

ALL of this/anything like this is just wonderful/great for Arnel. They aren't stupid..Arnel's story is what is helping them and the publicity will start to take care of itself.
How often do you find a voice like this, a voice that can sing these songs and make them sound almost the same..and then get a story like Arnel's with it.
A lot of what is going is because of Arenl..good for him.

Just read from a JF poster that the interview went well and the reporter is hoping to have it as a cover story but it will depend on the editor.

That would be cool, but with political season in high gear, I can't see Journey being on the cover of Time.

I couldn't picture them in People right now, so you never now.

I actually think they may have a chance. It's time for a feel good story with a global twist.

Did you notice that the People magazine article made no mention of Augeri or Jeff? They went straight from SP to Arnel. Guess the last several years don't count in the Journey world.

It's really sad. The CBS morning show didn't even name names but displayed both JSS and SA's picture. Regardless, they hae been completely discounted by the press. I actually thing the last time Journey's been big in the news goies back to SP so I guess they are just making a leap. I don't really think this is directly the bands PR although I'm sure they are not bringing it up. They have a winner whether we like the way the press portrays it or not.

Anyway, Journey keeps going on and I'm glad.

You going to JTTC?

One thing I

I like about him he will sing at the drop of a hat. No band or music. He s got balls, maybe small, but belts it out anywhere anytime
