Final count for week 2 -

89,240 for the week. That's just a 15% drop from the debut week. Drops from #5 to #6 on the chart. Total scans so far are 194,223.

Pretty damn good. WTG, band. :)

This thing could conceivably sell consistent for several weeks, if not for the duration of the tour. Gold status next week? Platinum in a couple of months? ...Quite feasible. I'm impressed. People <3 some Journey. 8)

Double Platinum is a longterm possibility. Assuming Arnel makes it through the tour this all but assures us another album in the not too distant future.

They are not the official source. They cover as best they can (with high accuracy), but the above # is from Soundscan, the official reporting agency and is what will appear in Billboard.

Thanks! I'm glad the numbers aren't too much lower. :D

Thanks, Andrew. I still think they should have some video on Jump Start of a NEW song (a tastefully done vid).

Cool...Kind of a bummer, though, since it looked like it could possibly move up to #4.

I had estimated a 20% drop-off, so this is much better.

If Revelation is counted as 2 x CDs for RIAA purposes, and if the 20% drop-off continues each week, it'll go gold next week and platinum by July 29th.

This assumes a constant drop-off, which won't happen in actuality because the concert tour will add significant new sales, I would guess.

Where would they screen it? VH1 hasn't shown a video in years.

I read somewhere that they shot a video. Will find out for sure.

Let's see what happens, I think this is uncharted waters for this band, i.e. the wall mart shoppers. Is word of mouth good? What do casual fans think of Revelation? I don't think we have the pulse on that yet. Definitely staying tuned.

Assuming a continuous 15% drop off every week:

Gold: 6/25/08
Platinum: 7/30/08

694k sold by 1/1/09. (1.4 million RIAA numbers)

More of a test as well, especially if they don't have the marketing of Wally World behind them.

I see no reason to divorce Wal Mart at this point!

VH1 shows videos in the morning, sort of a wake up show. But a video should be made for any video outlet...it's not about TV. They found their singer on YouTube after all. Get a video on YouTube, MSN, Yahoo, AOL, Rhapsody, VH1Classic, VH1, Fuse, On Demand, Music Choice, MySpace, iLike, etc.

It kinda sucks that they are touring Europe right now. I would imagine that a tour here right now would help keep sales steadier if not boost them.
