Asian tour for Journey?

Has there been any scuttlebutt about Journey doing an Asian tour?

I'll state the obvious: with a Filipino man fronting Journey, it would seem that Asian audiences might react very favorably toward Journey, even more so than in previous years. Journey toured Japan in 2004, when "Open Arms" was used in an Eiichiro Hasumi Japanese film, Umizaru (which translates literally as Sea Monkey). The song appeared three times in the movie and became the pilot for a t.v. show. And, of course, Arrival was a Japanese release before it was released in the U.S. So Journey's not unknown in Asia, to say the least.

With a solid new CD and an Asian frontman, an extended Asian tour (China, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines) could probably result in at least 2 million CDs being sold, I'm guessing.

I'm betting that the guys will take a month off in October and then head over to Asia. Manila is probably a sure thing.

I heard Arnel say in an interview (somewhere) that Journey will be in Manila in November. No date mentioned, though.

Sounds good -- I gotta believe somebody in management is thinking about concert tickets and CD sales in Asia.

I could see 7 concerts in Japan (Tokyo=2, Osaka, Fukuoka, Shizuoka, Nagoya, Hiroshima), 2 in the Philippines (Manila or Quezon City, Cebu City), 2 in Taiwan (Taipai=2), and 5 in China (Shanghai=2, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou), and 2 more dates in Australia (Sydney and Melbourne).

Of the 18 concert dates I listed, Journey has already played in the 7 dates in Japan (2001 and 2004), and their lead singer would be the "hometown favorite" in the 2 cities in the Philippines. So half the concerts (9) on the 18-concert tour would be not difficult to organize, I think. That only leaves the 9 remaining concert dates in Taiwan, China, and Australia. In total, there's a population of 73.5 million in all those cities, not including the rest of the metro areas. That's a lot of potential CDs that could be sold, methinks.

It'd be pretty awesome for Journey to be able to say that they've toured Europe, the U.S. and Asia, selling x million CDs .....

Interesting ..... it's also interesting that the recent Madrid concert was only 70%-filled (presumably because of the 45-euro ticket prices).

If the tickets are priced right, I gotta believe that an Asian leg of the tour could be big .....

I read somewhere Singapore could be a possible stop as well.
