So Summer solstice was yesterday...it was a freakin' 113 degrees & felt hotter today...share your fave Summertime songs. What brings back memories for you - care to share? what age were you? Today in my daughter's ballet class they danced to the Beach Boys so now I'm in that mood. Here are some of mine:

That is exactly the one that popped into my head when I read this thread title 8) I remember listening to that in the car with friends the summer it came out in high school. It still makes me think of those summers when I hear it.

Before I was converted to Rock by going to my first Journey concert in 81, I was working a Summer job in the inspection lanes at the Delaware DMV. When this song would come on the radio we would break out in dance looking like a bad rendition of Carwash.
I was so in love with Jodi Watley back then.

These songs do fit for a summer night...hey, looks like Malo is playing Sphagatini's tonight! :) They always broadcast the Smooth Jazz station from there on weekends.

Here's some Santana & a very young Neal - Gregg looks like he never ages (oh, Lora - :)
HH is probably in there, too. :)

Santana always reminds me of my friend's much older brother when we were little. Salsa & chips anyone?

This was a big hit in the early 70's. My sister and I would be singing in the back of the station wagon during Summertrips to the Shore not understanding a single word. The closest we had come to spanish culture back then was from watching Chico and the man.

OMG! Flashback...I haven't heard that one since the early 70s...just reminded me of homeroom because it was in the Spanish/History teacher's room...geez, I just had a memory of a certain guy, slight crush...funny, how songs do that. Heck, I still don't know what the words mean. lol.

Every High School track team had this as their anthem. When you heard this playing you knew summer vacation was almost here.
