In a goof of substantial proportion Journey's management only had 210,000 copies of Revelations made...they are now rushing to get more out before the buzz fades away!

That's a good goof to make. It's good to see Journey doing better than expected in sales! The new cd is really great. I've been listening to it for about 3 weeks now and it's really good.

You need a bigger
I fell for it since I've heard most Walmarts and the Walmart online are out of stock.

I was in Maine yesterday and saw a lot at the Wal Mart there, so I still think there's copies out there!

Did it go up or was I incorrect?

Journey #11 this week with 36,995units sold. This is down 61% from last week.

Quite a drop. Wal Mart being "out of stock online" probably hurt somewhat. Still impressive week 3 totals all things considered.

So that puts them at around 230,000 for three weeks? Great, great! They're just shy 40K going gold, or 20,000 more units.

Ya, and this is just the numbers from HDD, the actual numbers have been lower than what they are reporting.

Good chance they'll go gold by next Tuesday. Total CD sales (x 2) = 462,436.
With the U.S. tour not yet started, I still think the CD will go platinum by the end of summer / early autumn.
Another (more positive) way to look at it is: Journey will (likely) have a certified gold CD before the U.S. part of their tour even begins.
If someone had predicted on December 5, 2007 (when Arnel was announced as the new lead singer), that Journey would have a new lead singer and a certified-gold CD before their U.S. tour had even started, no one would have believed that, not even the most optimistic Journey fans .....

It would be a good bit of promotion to be able to refer to Revelation as the "GOLD selling "Revelation" cd from Journey" People like to be part of the club. When they realize the CD has sold GOLD, more people might want to buy it to be a part of that club!

Agreed. If you would've said Journey's new CD would be gold, I and many others would've said, "HOLY SHIT! Perry is back."

I just sent a polite and professional email to the Loop (Chicago rock station). I requested that they play Never Walk Away. I hit them with facts about the CD, how well it's selling, etc. They play new Crue, Leppard, and even Whitesnake. I checked out their play list log, I've noticed they haven't played ANY Journey in two weeks. Not good.

perry must be back.

Hopefully they will get a nice bump when the US leg of the tour starts.

...and Wal Mart not running "out of stock online" would help, too. NoMoTa needs to get their shit together.

But I firmly believe they need to do some promotion for the CD and Tour while they are in between the UK leg and the US leg...

Lets not forget that Leppard went from 5 to 30 - so compared to them Journey have done very well, i'm convinced the tour will shift a 6 figure sum and it could end up being platinum quite easily as you said.

Does each CD count as a unit? I was thinking that they would have to sell 500k of the package (rather than individual CDs) to be considered gold. There was a big debate on the Eagles board about that and I can't remember the outcome.
