I've hunted for this in other threads. My wife found it and said I should scan it and post it. If it's been posed prior, my apologies, feel free to move or delete as appropriate.

This is in the most recent issue of People Magazine.

The article is concluded with the following

"See Arnel Pineda sing with Journey and hear more of the band's interview at PEOPLE.COM/JOURNEYVIDEO which has a cool video interview. Very cool!

Yeah, real cool... except they need to get their story RIGHT before they publish it. Journey was looking for a replacement for Steve Perry when they found Arnel???? D'uh... ok. :?

I don't care how great he is, Arnel and his 'cinderella' story (which is also inflated to suit their selfish needs~they act like Neal Schon found a youtube of him singing for change while he's still on the street) cannot erase the past ten years and all the bullshit Journey has put their fans through.

I would really like this story, despite my feelings for the whole BS drama, if they would just freakin' BE HONEST with people.

yea, but you are referring to the hardcore fans who let Arrival tank and never even purchased Generations. This is simply aimed at the majority who simply thought Journey fell off the planet--and THAT is the audience they are aiming for. No offense to anybody, but those people don't know Augeri or JSS, and probably can't name the members of the band--they just remember the songs.

From a marketing standpoint, it is a LOT easier to reintroduce a band this way then saying "this is our latest lead singer who replaced the guy who survived a tour before we let him go who replaced the guy who blew out his voice trying to replace Steve Perry and recorded several albums that sold nothing". They are not lying, they just aren't telling the entire truth. Not totally accurate, but it's the way public relations goes. Not really surprised either--from a MARKETING standpoint, I would do the same thing if I was in charge of p.r. for the band.

Saw this a few days ago on a break at work & thought some hysterical smileys could be made with some of those faces, lol.

Like the story or not, it's giving them exposure.

I think Deen looks cool as hell! Almost looks like he belongs in Motley Crue instead of Journey.........kind of a cross between Nikki and Tommy. :)

It makes perfect sense to me, Larry. If you look at the big picture...they are sitting on a RR track waiting for a train.
Deen is simply saying, "Dudes wouldn't you rather take a plane?" NS, AP and RV are busy yukking it up with fans, also waiting for the train!!
I'm more concerned about JC pulling out the tae kwon do moves????
