After week one I knew Gold was a done deal and Platinum was imminent. I'm now thinking that double Platinum is a very good possibility as well. Fuck it, I say this thing does go double Platinum by the end of the year or early next year.

I did my part at Sams club this weekend...
Talked a couple that was checking it out into buying it

But I was honest...
I told them the new material was killer, that Arnel is a gew
and to use disc 2 as a cup-coaster or frisbee for a gerbil

That gerbil would have to be on the juice I think

Correct me if I am wrong...but Gold = 500,000 units correct? Or is it gold for the DVD?

http://www.riaa.com/goldandplatinum.php ... r=criteria

Gold CD = 500,000.

Journey had 194,223 CDs sold going into last Wednesday. By RIAA standards, the "Revelation" album counts as two CDs sold, so they had 388,446 CDs sold. With 32,514 CDs sold so far this week (x 2 = 65,028), Journey has 453,474 CDs sold to date.

Gold standards for a video in longform (i.e., concert) is 50,000. But the bonus CD is considered just that, a bonus, so it's not counted for tracking purposes, unfortunately.

Wouldn't it be gold already since RIAA is on units shipped not sold? There's got to be 20.0m left out there in the stores somewhere

Wal Mart has to report units sold since it's an exclusive package only available at Wal Mart.

With 42.99% in, Journey has 32,514 sold ..... At this pace, they'll have the exact same week-over-week drop-off that they had last week -- 15%. That would be a good, solid showing for Week 3. If you look at week-over-week percentage decline and chart position, Journey's holding up as well as Usher.

It'll be interesting to see how the sales figures change when the tour starts. Journey's one of the few acts on the Billboard top 20 that can put butts in the seats on a concert tour. Not many other acts who are currently charting will sell out 25,000-seat amphitheatres on a 55-city North American tour.

I still tend to think the sales will come up considerably before the end of the day.............

Dropped to 11th place with 61% in. Hopefully they can hang on and remain in the top 10!
