Just wondering if anyone else has noticed that the songs on this album are easier to sing ? SP (obviously) and Most SA material trash's my voice after about one song. I used to be a tenor, however age has caught up with me. Anyway, these songs do wear out my voice but it takes longer and I thought maybe they've lowered things a bit to save Arnels voice.

You act as if the songs are supposed to "wear someone out". SP's voice went bad not because it's normal, it went bad because he did not take care of himself correctly. (If you doubt this, just look at all the 50-70 year old tenor opera singers.) If your voice is "wearing out" you're either singing in a wrong style, not hydrated enough internally, or simply don't have the vocal chords athletics. Sure Arnel sings a little lower and usually in chest voice, but that still doesn't make it easier or harder to sing.

Good point about the opera singers. However, maybe I didn't state the question correctly. I realize that the songs are not meant to wear out the voice, they are just in the key that Perry naturally sang in. But when Augeri came on board they continued to write new music in the same key or close to the old material. Now it seems that they have lowered things some on the new material for Arnel to suit his voice so that he only has to really crank it out on the classic songs. Anyway, I was really just wanting to find out if all of you who like to sing along with your music find these new songs easier to sing along with.

Rock is a whole different animal as far as singing goes than opera is. I'm not sure what the technical difference is but rock has always been a much more throaty style than opera and I'm sure that takes its toll on the vocal chords much more than opera does.
