THIS from a magazine that has always hated Journey?

They actually consider them "formidable"? "Some
damn good originals"??

I received an offer through email offering to pay me to blog or respond to reviews. I always wonder if some of the responses I read are paid endorsements.
I was never into Rolling Stone magazine...does Rolling Stone still have any credibility?

Ya, very surprised to see that...They have not given Journey or any melodic rock band for that matter, little, bad, or if any press on releases...

as well! lol
Thanks for the link!

It amazes me how many people here at MR don't realize it when Rolling Stone, etc. give very back-handed reviews..
Almost as if the writer was TOLD to write a good review, OR that they REALLY did like the CD but had to make it rude to uphold a certain mindset, etc. for the rag....
Rolling Stone.. NO credibility in my eyes.

I'd give it 3 stars as well, just for the re-recorded material... NOT NECESSARY AT ALL.
Anyway, I give the new stuff 4.5 stars.

This review in places sounds like the NY Times Review . Stolen thoughts, especially the last three lines
Is Judy Rosen a pen name for Joe Biden, cos the plagarism skills this writer displays are impressive?

A Joe Biden reference out of nowhere. Nice work!

Wow - this is like being given the Grammy in Rolling Stone terms; they hate Journey with a passion! Definitely some back-handed compliments and some straight up ones, too! I am floored!

Yes, it was absolutely necessary to secure the deal with WalMart. WalMart is paying them over $4.00 per sale of Revelation. What would they have gotten with a label? A buck? Maybe? WalMart insisted on the rerecorded songs. Wasn't an option.
