For those of you that believe in the power of prayer like I do,
your prayers are needed...

My 1 yo daughter Abby was hospitalized yesterday for a serious stomach virus.
It causes major nausea and diarhea and, since she won't eat or drink anything on her own,
she has been terribly dehydrated. She's been on IVs for almost 24hrs but everything they
pump into her just pisses out her butt, not to mention because of this, she hasn't urinated in
2 days and the docs are concerned about possible kidney damage.

My wife and I are not taking it well and have been praying ourselves...

Again, if you believe in the power of prayer, throw some our way.
You folks are like family and your words and jest have always
gotten me thru the bad days... I need it now more than ever...

PS Tito, even though you've had the gumption to question Perry's greatness
and to go so far as to suggest he was a "Flash in the Pan", even your prayers
would be appreciated

Kids are very resilient - I see it in the ER all the time.

I'm not the most devoutly religious guy you'll ever meet (I share the same philosophy on life and religion with George Carlin). That said, you and your family are in my thoughts. I have a 20 month old son, and am devastated every time he gets a fever. I hope that Abby is up, running around, and being a little girl again, before long.

The good news is that they have the IV in her. Regardless of whether or not the fluid stays in, there is fluid going in, which is better than none at all.

I'm sure she'll be fine in a couple of days.... but I understand your pain.

Both my kids (2 and 3 at the time), my wife, and I ended up getting the stomach flu at the same time early this year. The kids were throwing up... and my wife caught it from cleaning them... and then I got it from cleaning them when she was knocked down....

It was a MISERABLE four days... and we all felt so helpless.

Keep your chin up... it'll get better.
