You probably won't get this if you don't live or didn't live in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.

The whole station. WLS-FM. First time in over 13 years. But, it disappeared for awhile in the 80s and early 90s.

Very cool!!!

Growing up, I lived in the far reaches of southwestern Minnesota and I could pick up this station(although I think it was the AM version I got). In fact, my mom remembers listening to it growing up in east central South Dakota. It had a HELL of signal. I hung on Larry Lujack's every word!!

I wonder if I can pick up it now?!

Hell, I grew up in Tennessee and could pick up the AM there! I remember Lujack, too...and there was some show called "Sex Talk" on in the evenings we used to listen to, as I recall...You guys have any memory of that, or am I trippin?

When I was a kid I lived in southern Indiana, I remember my sisters listening to the station. Once we picked it up in FL after we moved. In fact I was just thinking of this station a few days ago. Thanks for the info Tito.

Yes, those were the AM signals. That's still WLS-AM 890. Now, it's news/talk. TNC's favorites: Rush, Hannity, and some local afternoon. Probably like most high powered AM stations, it reaches 38 states and Canada. I remember listening to a Blackhawks/Red Wings playoff game in '95 up in Canada getting AM 1000 in Chicago.

Lujack was back on the air a couple of years ago and a different station.

I listened to that every morning when I was... holy shit that was a long time ago... nevermind.
Do they still do cold water wake up calls? That shit was funny as hell.

For years now I'be been a Stern listener though.
Therefore by default, I was also a Jonathan Brandmier listener because he came on after HS.

And is Dick Biondi still alive? Jeesh! Was listening to him as a kid too.

No, but Thursday mornings are "To Catch a Freak" days, (like the Dateline predator thing, only for adults and freaky ones at that)... they post an ad on Craigslist early in the AM and these tards call in to Erica who plays up to them and they're on the air but don't know it. My favorite was a couple of weeks ago when they had the foot fetish people calling in... it was SOOOO gross!!! One week she was a lesbian who had never been with a man and wanted to try the peen. The callers for that had me in tears. This morning was something about men in uniform. But I was on the phone coordinating last minute airport pick-up plans for tonight so I missed it.

Fridays they have Laura Berman on... she's awesome. And of course Perez Hilton calls in with the gossip around 7:45. :)

WLS was a station I listened to loads as a young teen.
Only trouble was that we olny came in clearly after 9pm.
Many a night did I spend at the beach with my ghetto blaster listening
to that great station.
This is cool, thanks Tito.

He retired to New Mexico. When he came back on air in Chicago a few years ago, he broadcasted from his ranch in New Mexico.
