Not really sure what your point is RWF, but I can assure you that I don't have a discriminatory bone in my body, despite my direct vocabulary. In fact, I was beyond stunned (and disappointed) when I saw a CNN poll that showed what religion a candidate is, mattered to the vast majority of the country! I can assure you that it has never, and will never matter to me. I'm proud to say that I've never voted for ANY candidate, based upon which god he or she prayed to!
Mitt Romney was the governor of my home state, and I voted for the guy! I also think he did a pretty good job, as governor of Massachusetts. To my knowledge, Massachusetts is the only state in the country with universal healthcare, and Romney was the catalyst for that becoming a reality! For the record, I do think McCain is too damn old to be the president, regardless of any of his other qualifications! The federal government REQUIRES that ALL of its employees retire by the age of 65 (whether they want to, or not). Why should McCain be any different?

First off, you'd NEVER hear that "N" word come from my mouth! As for the comment I made, there was nothing derogatory about it. I'm quite sure Mitt is a Mormon, and it's nothing that he's ashamed of. Furthermore, if the term "geriatric" puts you off, let me put this another way...McCain is REALLY FUCKING OLD![]()

Gin and Tonic Sky wrote:Anyway it wont happen. Rommney is a risk, but without a big upside. He wouldn't help carry Massachussets or Michigan, and we dont know what undercurrent of anti Mormon bigotry is there in the evangelical base of the GOP . My hunch is that its not as great as people say it is but a risk anyway and if you are going to take a risk anywhay and go for someone who has an exciting upside, and a future like Jindal. Or Rice - a real risky move with an upside. Both those have associated risks, but you'd get your base fighting for you.

Well put, Gin...I agree. For the record, however, both Jindal and Rice have said they want nothing to do with the VP slot. I'm surprised Lieberman isn't the guy, personally. That just really seems to go along with McCain's "Reaching across the aisle" philosophy, and most cons that I know really like Joe.
But- he IS Jewish... (no malace intended! Merely an observation)

You're both entitled to your opinion, but I can honestly say that if either of you is calling me a bigot...you can both go fuck yourself! I think I articulated my reason for choosing the words I chose, VERY clearly! As I stated, I happen to like the guy, and voted for him! Perhaps neither of you has ever heard of the word "satire". For the hundreth time, I brought up Mitt Romney's Mormon faith, because I was shocked and appalled at just how big of an issue it was made out to be, by the national press, when he was running in the primary, when it was NEVER, EVER, EVER once brought up, when he was running for governor in my home state!

How about if I had said about Gore/Lieberman..."What do you guys think about that Jew that's running with Gore?" Doesn't sound too good, does it???

And I'm telling you to go fuck yourself, dickwad! It's not my problem that your English comprehension isn't up to par, even after 17 explanations! If you had made a comment about Lieberman's Jewish faith, after it had been raised as an issue during the primary, and then punctuated with the shocked emoticon, I actually would have understood the sarcasm! I certainly would have understood it, QUITE clearly, after you explained yourself (as I have). I've been accused of a lot of things in my life, but being accused of being a "bigot" is simply out of line, and patently FALSE!
