Hi all - I will be walking in the Leukemia and Lymphoma's Light The Night Walk this October to help raise money in the fight to end blood cancer.

As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's primary mediastinal diffuse large b-cell lymphoma in 2005. After six cycles of chemotherapy, I am happy to report that I am in remission and will hit my third anniversary in September - only one more year until I am declared cured!

Light The Night is the nation’s night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of patients battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds lifesaving cancer research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers and many other types of cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and stem cell transplants, that have helped patients live better, longer lives. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are improving the quality of life.

But more research is critically needed:

- Every five minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer.
- Every 10 minutes, someone dies.
- Leukemia causes more deaths among children than any other cancer.
- Nearly 20,000 Americans died from lymphoma in 2007.
- The survival rate for myeloma is just 34 percent.

Please consider a donation to support my participation in the Light The Night Walk and help save lives. I am aiming to beat my personal fundraising of $500 last year. Thank you so much for your support!
