Well...that's how "Spike TV" is Marketing it.

Hey all....

Rainy freakin' Holiday here in CT... :x

But hey....been watchin' "Star Wars" ~ the WHOLE DAMN THING (except ep 1 - because it sucked)

Eps 4,5, and 6 take on a whole other meaning now....I mean, I saw these originally when I was in grade - middle school.

I just think it's really cool to see the WHOLE story.

Thoughts?

Watching that whole series is a serious investment of time. I haven't done it all in one day, but I've done it. Now Debbie and I have watched the whole Rocky series in one day. That's another serious investment of time.

I was in 4th grade when Star Wars (now known as Ep. 4, A New Hope) first hit the big screen. I also had a set of the very first ever Star Wars figures, called the "Early Bird Edition" and available only thru a breakfast cereal offer. I believe the 4-piece set was Luke, Chewie, R2-D2 and Obi-Wan Kenobi. I found them about 9 years ago, and each one had "1976" stamped as the date of their release. Unfortunately, I lent my entire newly-discovered set to a "friend" who was a collector/dealer to sell, and never saw them again... a-hole!

Back then, the first 3 in the series were just pure MAGIC, and I was so excited when the new trilogy was coming around. But alas... IMO Lucas has overcommercialized it into the ground, and the magic is 120% GONE... Everything has been so incredibly overexposed that there is no more mysticism to the Jedi, no chills at the sound of a light-saber, and no more awe when Yoda frowns and knits his brow before he kicks ass.... the magic is gone.... it's pure cheese now. I'm not interested in seeing the new animated movie, nor in watching the TV show.

For me, Star Wars was really the first 3 episodes, and the last two of the most recent trilogy were especially rotten to me. I actually seem to be one of the only people on the planet who enjoyed "Phantom Menace" above the other two.

Yeah, they get progressively more ridiculous after that. III is ok though. I liked the one that came out last year. I thought it was made well, like the first two.

I had the Millenium Falcon and the Eagle spaceship from Space:1999! Major space battles were going on in the yard till every thing got broke after a few weeks.

You both need to see the new RAMBO. Stallone rules! I even used to eat Stallone brand protein pudding before he took his name off the product. Now it's just INSTONE. Still the same stuff, but not quite as fun to show off the cans while you are eating it... haha!

The 2nd one is supposed to take place in Okinawa, & what's funny is they even mention Kadena Air Force Base in there, which is where I went to high school, but of course that movie wasn't filmed anywhere near there, lol! I think it was mostly filmed in Hawaii, lol.

I have all 4, and Larry is right on in his assessment. I even watched IV again a few years ago, and it was HORRIBLE. Introduced us to Hillary Swank, though!

Yeah I saw part of the 3rd one, never saw the 4th one though, lol. Liked the 2nd one though, even if it wasn't really Okinawa, lol.

K.K. 1 and 2 were very good, and 3 actually was not that bad. Not quite as good of course, but it had a great story arc and I liked it. 4 never should have happened. It actually started off with a bit of promise, but became ridiculous, and the showdown at the end was horrendous. I always liked Michael Ironside as a heavy, but he was ridiculously over the top in this one...

It's always the trend for sequels to get progressively worse. Jaws, the same thing. I know there are the exceptions, but can't think of any right off hand.

I'm with you there - totally - the original movies will always be THE complete set - none of the others come close.

Spider-Man II

The Dark Knight :)

If someone gave me $20,000 to sit through those movies all in one day I think I'd have to pass. Honestly, I don't think I could do it. Just the sight of those costumed fools makes me gag. What a bunch of mindless shit.
