Thanks Larry, I'd dropped out of Journey fandom during that time. Thought they were long gone.

So funny, I sat down while hubby was flipping thru the channel guide and I saw Journey...so it's on now. My autistic girl went and grabbed her guitar & is banging the heck out of it & trying to sing/yell to the music.

Yeah I was kinda surprised no one mentioned they totally left out everything from Revelation - it's all Greatest Hits + Mother Father.

I definately noticed and don't know if this is because it's VH1 Classic. But it was also disappointing there was not even a mention of the new album.

Wow, what a wasted publicity opportunity THAT was. All Perry-era hits and NO REVELATIONS tunes, at all????

The overall feel of that was just really somber onstage, other than Arnel moving around. I think his over-zealous jumping makes the rest of them look really old. The rest of them forgot to take their "rock vitamins" for that show.

Cain's intro to Open Arms didn't even flow into the song. It was some classical wanker that didn't belong.

I don't know who is making their decisions, if it is Azoff or not, but it just looked like....here's our replacement, of the replacement, of the replacement, of the original singer Steve Perry, singing our greatest hits for the trillionth time. Ain't he great? It didn't do anything to show that they are making new music or even attempting to move out of Perry's shadow. Somebody had to make the decision to edit it to greatest hits. Was it VH-1C or Journey? Poor choices, as usual, for them.

Agreed. Not showcasing After All These Years and Never Walk Away was just plain dumb. They missed a huge chance to move some albums. My guess is that VH1 Classic wanted to adhere to the term "classic" and play only the songs that people would recognize. Fuckers.

I'm not sure some exposure in this case is better than no exposure, if all they can do for them is rehash the classics for another singer. Journey should have had some input into how that thing was edited for the tube. I guess they either had no editing control or thought something was better than nothing. Still....if they agreed to it, it doesn't show faith in their new product.

The girlfriend, who is only a casual Journey fan, watched it with me. Her only comment was 'Geez, the other guys on stage look like death compared to the young guy that sings like Steve Perry'.

How you can go from I GUESS to it doesn't show faith is beyond me. You stretch much?
Besides, all you can do is interpret your own feelings. I'm amazed at the power of message boards where posters actually feel as if they can speak for the rest of the world. It's a phenomenon that happens at every board I go to. Weird.
