Thought I'd relate what happened at work two nights ago.

I mentioned to a patient I had been to Puerto Rico. One of the Medics heard me and asked why I went. Told him it was a Steve Perry concert.

He says, "How is Steve sounding these days?" I told him that he was doing some back up singing, lower register now, maybe working on some new stuff and we talked about Journey "back in the day".

Then he said, "Have you heard the new guy? He is phenomenal!" So I filled him in on Arnel, how he was noticed, that Revelation was supposed to be really good (still waiting for my copy in the mail) and that Journey would be doing local venues at the end of September but had sold out almost immediately.

This guy actually knew Journey music pre-Perry but had sort of drifted away after TBF.

Pretty cool conversation! So Arnel is getting noticed by the general public and not just us die-hards and I was proud of myself that I didn't talk smack about Journey or anything negative.

I did happen to mention he should be on the lookout for a singer named Jeff Scott Soto, though!

Now where the hell is my copy of Revelation? I could have driven to WalMart and had it in 30 minutes.

I thought you werent going to buy it.{you should} I like it and Friga is still gay. I m am going to one concert this year .There are some good tunes on this CD. Enjoy the music,i dont give a shit about the band.There a 4 songs on the Cd that are awesome.I enjoy them everyday

He's not doing any live shows. Hasn't since 1994, I believe. The possibility of a lullaby laden CD to be released late this year or early next year exists, but I wouldn't expect any live performances. Per himself, he doesn't sound like himself anymore...or only on occasion.

"I started writing music again, at the beginning of last summer. I had not opened that up in over ten years. I was reluctant to try to write some more, but now I’ve been doing that, and it’s been a real experience. I got ProTools, and I’m working on stuff. I wasnt' going to buy it, but I thought it was the last thing I could do to really give Arnel a chance. Besides, the new stuff is supposed to be great - it actually came in the mail yesterday. Plan to listen to it today.
