OT: Metallica covering Iron Maiden's Remember Tomorrow

Postby Loneman1 » Sat Jul 19, 2008 11:19 am

I've seen a few 'tallica fans on here and thought I would share. This is awesome!

This comes from a Kerrang magazine exclusive Iron Maiden tribute album which was released a couple of days ago. This link doesn't really do it justice, but its still pretty good. This won't be on the new album, but it seems to give a sense of how they are sounding these days. It was recorded after the new album was finished. I can't wait!!!

Great version of one of the better Iron Maiden tunes....and I can't wait for the new album either, Loneman. I'm really confident that Rick Rubin will have got them back on track. At the other end of the spectrum...just read that Rubin is doing the new Crosby, Stills and Nash record....who like Metallica are in my all-time top five...so a good couple of years ahead in terms of new albums...

Hell yea!! I've been a fan of all 'tallica's stuff. Each album has its own flavor if you are open to accepting it. I love Bob Rock, but it was definitely time to take a different direction. They got VERY comfortable with him. On the same token, I love the fact that they still have a mutual "family" feeling, even after choosing Rubin to produce the album. Needless to say, the new shit will shred.

You seen the album cover yet? It looks better stretched out in the wallpapers under the pic, but you kinda get the point.

Metallica's version of "Whiskey in the Jar-O" remains the single greatest cover by any band in history. This should be good.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Hehe.....funny story about SBT.......back in '92 a friend of mine was going to school with a girl that was kind of into metal and was so excited about a new song by Metallica. Being a big fan of 'tallica, he asked her what it was called. She replied "Cyber Troll". He was confused and asked her to sing a little.

YOU KNOW I'M CYBER TROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!

 I can't listen to that song without thinking of that.
