Anyone else seen it? We just got back, thoroughly enjoyed it (even my husband, who was a little concerned at first that he was one of only about 5 men in the whole theatre :) ) Helps if you lke ABBA - we've both always loved their music. I just wish I'd been able to see the stage play.

Gawd - now I'm playing my ABBA CD - can't get the tunes outta my head!

I love ABBA, and to think, they turned down a billion dollars to do one last tour. WOW

I saw it Friday night and LOVED it! Such a fun movie! Very few movies do people clap at the end and the whole sold out theater I was in was clapping. I want to see it again. I had never seen the play and still want to. I still have the music in my head too

The cast members sing the songs - Meryl Streep is fantastic, as is the young lead actress (can't remember her name) who plays Sophie.

It wasn't one of the 4 main members though. Not that I want to belittle the importance of any member of the band, but the 4 well knowns from the band are all still alive. They were all the singers. The one who died was one of their drummers.

Love ABBA's music. But I'll wait until it comes out on DVD. As much as I like muscials the seats in the theater's aren't the widest things in the world and I'm not that thin----yet!

In a recent interview with one of the members (Benny Andersson) when asked why turn down all this money and not tour he said he feels that they already make enough money of off old songs through the play and now royalties from Universal Studios. He also said it would be like cheating the fans by trying to get more money from them for performing old classics. Makes me think of another band who doesn't see anything wrong with that concept.

wife and i went yesterday afternoon... guilty pleasure... its like journey... you loved it at the time but never wanted to admit it!! ;-) Think about that--your friends laughed at you if you liked both these groups.... and both genres are timeless... still sound good 30 years later. Meryl was good and the girl who played the daughter was good too.... the chemistry was great between Meryl--and the guys.

OK, I'll go see it now. I LOVED the play but was a little hesitant because I liked the play so much. I LOVE ABBA. They play on my iPod more than Journey and JSS combined.

Get out Larry!, great lil movie.

ABBA has no hold on my music loving heart, can't stand most of their songs.
I liked Fernando though, finely.....it's their one schweet song I always speak on.
That movie was marvelous......hahahaha at your comment about it.

Yet at the same time you denounce SJ and Tito for doing the same thing.

yep you're always right. I denounce them cause they compared JSS to ABBA. Or cause they said JSS should stop charging people money for the rerecording of his greatest hits.
Exactly what is your point and goal?

OK, GREAT movie. I literally posted that I was going to go see it, got up and walked out the door. I took my sister and we had a great time. I would dare say I liked it almost as much as the play!
