We'll see. So far, the numbers haven't changed for Journey once they show up.

They're gonna sell between 15-25 thousand til the end of the tour...possibly the end of the year. The numbers are gonna be
huge when this tour's over.

Journey's done so well to-date with the album sales .....
Even if Journey doesn't sell one more CD for this week's chart, they'll only have to sell 14,641 albums each week for the rest of the U.S. tour in order for the album to go platinum by October 8th.
If this current strength trend in album sales continues, 'Revelation' may go platinum even earlier (say, Sept. 16th by my calculations).

Even if they don't sell another CD this week, it's impressive. That has exceeded my expectations by a mile. I thought they would only debut in the mid-20's. They haven't even fallen to that level yet. Mercy!

Double platinum remains a long-term possibility, IMO. Sorry, Deb.

Why is that? That they post a figure and when the sales percentage builds for the table, Journey's remain static?

I don't know but maybe because Journey's figure come from Walmart only, so one update at a time, unlike the other artists who's numbers are coming from various distributors.

Probably because WalMart dumps their figures and that is the total. Other artists have mulitple outlets selling their wares. So the numbers come in at different times from different companies...

They show Revelation on the Frontiers label, which is only over in Europe. Is that chart counting worldwide sales or sales just here in the U.S.A.

It's USA only. Only that website shows Frontiers. Also they have MCA in Asia just starting up. I would love to hear what Frontiers has sold. It's listed as their best selling CD in June plus MCA now.
Wonder if Andrew has any stats on world wide sales?

I never thought I'd care about where a band is on the charts and what the sales are. Must be age or this is what my life has been reduced to.
Anyway, it looks like they've definately outsold:
Def Leppard - a lot of hype, video with Toby Keith etc
Motley Crue - also a lot of hype. "biggest annoucement of the summer for CrueFest" which I understand Journey is outselling.
Judas Priest - Died, probably for good reasons
Whitesnake - Who knows- good album

Still top 20 after, what, almost two months now? That's pretty darn good.

21,907 ..... still very solid ......
For those keeping track, Journey has 714,048 CDs sold (at 2 per album) .....
Journey needs to sell 14,298 'Revelation' albums per week to reach platinum-status by the end of the U.S. tour (Oct. 8th) ....

It's still charting higher than where I thought it would debut. It's still good. If they can stay in this range, they should be good as a lot of the debut CDs this week will fall.

Funny that their number sold jumped up at the end, but their chart position dropped. Shame to see it outside the top 20 but nothing to complain about at all...
