Watched it, very good segment. He was also on the Early Show yesterday as well as Greta. I think he performed the new song live on General Hospital today as well. I'm sort of becoming a Rick Springfield nut apparently.

I tried to get VENUS IN OVERDRIVE but our WalMart doesn't have it out yet. They just NOW got REVELATION out.

gotta go back across town, 25 minutes to Best Buy. I'm 3 days late already--it's long enough. :x

WalMart does have the 'playlist' cd thing (kinda like a best of cd), packaged in recycled cardboard with an online booklet and extras, for $6.88. so I got that for now. it looks fun.

note--there is a 'playlist' offereing for Heart too.

Am i the only RS fan who still gets a thrill when "souls" starts up? I have never lost my love of this song - it easily makes my top 20 songs of all time......

Sex just got me buried alive...

Venus In Overdrive just came from Amazon today via UPS.

Springfield asked if you wanted a pre-order, go Amazon so he could chart this album quicker.

Yeah, this album is a fine piece of work. I'm diggin' it.

Rick was EVERYWHERE this past week!

Regis and Kelly, Good Morning America, Fox and Friends, Greta, Early Show, General Hospital - he has one great publicist!

I wonder how the album will chart.

Are you sure you're not having a flashback from the 80's?

Or, is General Hospital still on the air... and if so... is Rick Springfield still a cast member?

Don't hold out on us guys who don't stay up on the latest soap opera stars!

I wasn't alive in the 80s so it probably isn't a flashback.

It's still on and yes, he's still on it!

I met the producer of GH a few years okay. Their ratings were slipping so they brought back all the 80's characters. Luke, Laura, Emma Sams, Tristan Rogers and Springfield. The GH rating flew through the roof. I always saw Tristans character (Scorpio) as a prelude to Crocodile Dundee. I thought Scorpio was so cool and to me at least Holly (Emma Sams) was hotter then a fox in a forest fire.

I DVR'd them all but I have no means of copying them off that, unfortunately.

If there's a usb port on the DVR, then there's a way.

I finally got the CD yesterday and it is really good!! I've only listened to it through 1 1/2 times. I need to listen a couple more times to really decide how much I like it or not. But there are several songs that jumped out at me on first listen.

Springfield rocks. The new album, while TO ME, is a step back from the BRILLIANCE of the Shock album is still a GREAT GREAT record. The song about Lennon's killer floored me. What a great, ANGRY song. Loved it. If you can look up and hear "3 Warning Shots"- check it out. It's an excellent tune.

Springfield is SO underrated in the US and everyone labels him with "teenybop", "teen idol" blah blah blah.

The guy is a brilliant writer. Love the guy's harmony textures. Glad to see that he's doing well.

I don't have any of his other CDs. (I think I have a greatest hits and that's all) But I keep hearing how good they are. I may have to get some of them. Which ones do you recommend?

I think they are all great, myself, but the last three sound more contemporary. Karma - Shock, Denial, Anger Acceptance, and of course Venus in Overdrive. Rock of Life is incredible, but is sounding dated to me now. That was what, 87?

For some reason, I thought 3 Warning Shots was going to be about how society should have stepped in before the tragedy, or about forgiveness. It was actually a relief that the song just basically calls the guy a piece of shit. It really makes you angry that this guy thought he was entitled to take the life of someone that was so vital to so many.

he had a heck of a run in the 80's. anyone who like RS should have ......

Working Class Dog
Success Hasn't Spoiled me Yet
Living in Oz
Hard to Hold Soundtrack
Tao
Rock Of Life

all those are must haves and classics. now I am putting Venus In Overdrive along with those.

his others were good but not as good as the ones I mentioned and this includes VIO, his best in a long long time.

I didn't get SDAA. it was dark, depressing and the material goes on and on aimlessly. the album had no flow and to me was very inconsistent. I just didn't get him on that one. I liked Karma better.
