Can anybody help with this song?

This worked for somebody else here, so thought I'd try. I'm looking for who sings a certain song. When I was getting my coffee on the way to work this morning I heard a song playing in the background of a song I just love from years ago, stunning majestic/soaring vocals.....almost ROR Perryish sounding in tone/timbre. I think it was from the 80s? I want to add it to my IPOD and have no idea who sings it. All I can remember is "i'll pick you up.................show you the love" :?: :?: :?: :?:

Totally unrelated, and advanced apologies, but your sig is bugging the daylights out of me, Deb. It's "Baba O'Riley" not 'O'Reilly'.

I wish I could check out youtubes here... but I can't. What song is that, Rhi?

 Correction made.....it's funny, because that is how I had it spelled first but I didn't think it looked right.

Always come to me with Who questions and spelling clarifications.

I wonder if Perry will cover this song on his new CD. I'm hearing it's gonna have a few covers and a few originals. Possibly the long awaited Sam Cooke covers.  It's gonna be a very different Steve Perry if it gets released. He's experimenting with his lower range. I like that idea a lot. :)

Roger Daltrey ( sorry) was HOT. The curly blond hair and the fringey (bare chested) jackets... nice. 8) he looks more like a hobbit now, but thank god for video.

Don't be  . No one spells it right.
Same with Pete and John.

Its just like a Journey fan's annoyance at seeing 'Neil', 'Vallory', 'Greg', 'Rollie', 'Ainslie', Ansley', or 'Dean'.  You're just obligated to correct it.

I'm gonna start spelling "Don Dockin" just to create some trouble.

Trivia

Mardones is a one hit wonder who was actually in the Billboard top 20 twice, both times with "into the night". The song made it there in 1980 and again in 1989 when Benny re-released it.

Is it wrong that the first thing I thought of was

You lift me up if I should fall
Showing me love
When I was blind to it all
I face the fire and I stand tall
Knowing that you love me
