Some people are so afraid that he will win that they will USE the smallest most insane excuse to have something bad to say about him. Jesus, this guy might makes things better for crying out loud.. He is sincere. Thats a fact.. I love how if he changes his mind its called flip flopping.. Jesus, its called changing your mind and perhaps even admitting you were wrong. You cant change your mind when you run for office ? Fuck !

No politician is really that sincere, please. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool conservative and I don't believe McCain at all when he says "Country first" anymore then I believe Obama is going to bring some sweeping, everyone's smiling changes to the country.

It's a power grab.

Other than that point, I'm staying out of this one since some people refuse to stay civil (or at least reasonable) about politics here.

Sure is.

Pick your side.

Freedom, growth, less taxes, or... turn my thermostat down and be taxed more for it. No brainer in my humble opinion. Others mileage may vary.

You got 2 out of 3 wrong there.

It's definitely going to be great viewing come October and November. It's gonna be as close as 2000 if not closer.

For all the talk that McCain is boring and Bush III and old you would think Obama could at least poll as well as Kerry and Gore did.

It might be Obama vs himself. It might be up to him to beat himself. But, he COULD just do that. He didn't even really get the bump he was supposed to from his overseas trip. It'll be a very interesting election night.

The name says it all: Fact Finder.

Whatever you believe, you declare as fact. In your mind, anyone who disagrees with your opinion is denying the facts.

Newsflash: It's just your opinion. We all have one.

Thanks for researching the facts and reporting on them for those of us who are obviously unable to think and analyze for ourselves and come to our own conclusions. Where would we be without you? Please, find some more facts for us before our brains start to atrophy again.

Just kidding... we know you're a closet Obama supporter.

How possibly could he, when you have Conservatives on every cable news channel and AM talk station leaping at the chance to equate something as fundamentally American as a diplomatic visit abroad to Hitler speaking in the Reichstag?
Funny, I don't remember calling yourself "a citizen of the USA and of the world" a bad thing when Reagan did it.

While most of you were crucifying Obama for his Pakistan foreign policy speech, I was the only guy to mention we had already been carrying out Pakistan air raids and that Obama's speech was little more than warmed over US policy.

From ABC

Sen. Barack Obama's chief strategist conceded that the Democratic presidential candidate was referring to his race when he said Republicans were trying to scare voters by suggesting Obama "doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

http://www.abcnews.go.com/GMA/Politics/ ... 348&page=1

As if we couldn't figure that out Barry. Idiot!

I don't think that was ever in question.
McCain has yet to wield race as a rapier in this election, but so much as a cursory glance at some of the comments left on YouTube, CraigsList, or any communal website, tells you his race is being used to scare others.

EDIT: apparently an Obama surrogate did, in fact, deny the comment's clear and obvious racial meaning.

Inflating tires and having regular tuneups is actually a good idea. Will it save huge amounts of gas/oil? Probably not enough to help very much but it's still a good idea. This is a non-issue, in my opinion.

Countries are great in spite of their leaders, not because of them. When people start believing their "leaders" will make things better we are all screwed. Obama can get away with this because his constituency is dumb as dirt. They actually perceive a man as being "great" because of the words he speaks and the way he delivers them. When Americans adopt this Europeon air-head mentality all is lost. Only losers and loser countries have historically looked to others to make their situation better. Send Obama Bin Laden to Europe and they can trade fan mail. People who ass kiss government are just sad. The nanny government is upon us...

I don't have the time to research right now but I've seen that chart before and, in my opinion, it looks pretty biased just from a cursory glance. I'd be surprised if it's at all accurate.

{edit}
With just a cursory search, here's a chart that seems to be a lot less skewed and probably much more accurate...

Dick head. Only Congress can spend money. Reagan and Bush had a Democrat controlled Congress and Clinton had a Republican controlled Congress. Guess what Bush II has?

Yeah, the chart is grossly inaccurate plus it purposely over-exaggerates just by the scale that it is using.

Anyway, what was the ratio of Dems to Repubs during Reagan's and Bush Sr.'s administrations? Wasn't it quite heavily in favor of the Dems at that point? Of course, the numbers during Clinton's term can be misleading also since the Repubs gained a majority in '94. Regardless, I do believe and always have that the President does bear SOME responsibility when things go downhill and deserves at least SOME of the credit when things are going well.

Also...Slucero, please shrink that pic...It's ruining the thread by widening the screen. I'd like to not have to scroll over to read everything.

Obama and his ego should go back to the south side of Chicago, that put him in the House, and dodge bullets. After he cleans up that situation and spends more time in Congress maybe he would have some experience.

A hair's breadth Democratic majority, so feckless that the GOP just managed to succesfully obstruct tax credits for renewable energy for a fourth time.
Like Clinton, if Obama wins he'll be far to bogged down cleaning up Bush's mess to propose any meaningful legislation.

RocketRide.. no need to call me a "dickhead", DICKHEAD...

Conversationpc.. sorry mang resized... oh and your pic looks like cumulative national debt... the pic I posted is the increase.... probably why it looks so skewed...

The most obvious thing when looking at both graphs is that neither party has been able to reduce the increases or the debt over time... and that's a damn shame.

As a lifelong Repub (who's becoming an Independent this year) .. I'd love a "real" Repub in office... but GW has pretty much sowed the seeds of ruin for the party, at least until the Dems also fuck up and wear out their welcome...
