That's the bottom line. I will be back later with a more detailed review of last night's Scorpions and Ratt show.

Klaus rocks! He sings in a range that compliments his voice. Thus allowing him to sing the same songs today that he performed years ago, and they STILL sound every bit as good as they did back then! Fk he's oogly as hell though, but the man can sing his arse off!!!

I saw the Scorpions when they supported Judas Priest a few years back and they were laughable. Nuff said.

And you have heard Perry sing today? Hmmmmm, and we thought only Lora and Cyndi and Randy Jackson have had that privilidge. Don't get me wrong I am not knocking Meine. But I see no reason to knock Perry either, because you like Meine.

Well, you can't actually say that with any confidence until Perry starts singing in public again. More honest to say BUT Meine is singing today.

I give Perry the decision in the early 80s. Today and the last decade or two, Meine gets the decision (both very similiar ages). Then again, you are correct also, Perry didn't even make it out of the locker room-so Meine wins by forfeit. I'm going off of what Perry sounded like in '94 or '96 (the last time heard from) and even if he was still at that level, Meine wins. Odds are, Perry isn't at the level anymore either, so Meine wins in an early knockout.

No way dude - Perry in the `90s still sounded great. Meine is just another generic euro rock singer, nothing special. Maximum credit for being out there performing though.

Okay....YOU hit the high notes in "No One Like You," and then get back to me on the "nothing special."

Does anyone own the Scorpions' World Wide Live? I picked up a bootleg of the DVD (taped from VHS) on Ebay.

Klaus Meine is one of the 10 or so best rock singers in the last 25 years and certainly one of the top 5 most durable.

Fair play if that's your opinion. Seeing an 'on' Rob Halford on the same night really didn't do Meine any justice. Even so there was nothing special that I noticed in his vocal performance, which is usually my first point of interest. In my opinion he was nothing special and nowhere near the top 10 best rock singers in the last 25 years. Not even close.

Respect your opinion though and glad you find something to enjoy their music. The winds of change and all that.

Weren't they taking votes on their website on what songs to include in the set list for this tour?

also,

Do you have the setlist from the show you saw? Just curious as this might be a show I would like to check-out when it comes my way.

Yes, they did and I'm not kidding when I say they basically played the songs I voted for. That is why I said they listened to Tito.

I'll try to recall in no particular order (I know I forgetting something and I hope not adding a wrong one):

Lovin' You Sunday Morning
Coast 2 Coast
Make It Real
The Zoo
Blackout
No One Like You
Dynamite
Hurricane
I'm Leaving You
Big City Nights
Still Loving You
No Pain No Gain
Send Me an Angel
Hour 1
321
Humanity

What a stupid fuckin thread.
Two completely different style of singer. Why even contemplate mixing it up with these two.

That's not the Godzilla it's the baby Godzillasaurus. Perry under his street fightin' identity 'The Hoarse Whisperer'(tm) would have no trouble taking him out!

Damned straight. He sounded 25 on Humanity Hour, too.

Perry in his prime was slightly better, but Klaus has been doing this 40 years.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
