My apologies if this has already been posted previously--
PAUL Newman has finished chemotherapy and has told his family he wants to die at home.
The Oscar-winning actor was pictured being pushed from a New York cancer hospital in a wheelchair.
Yesterday, it was reported in America that Newman, 83, had only weeks to live and had returned home to his wife, Joanne Woodward.
"Paul didn't want to die in the hospital," a source said. "Joanne and his daughters are beside themselves with grief."
The source, described as a close family friend, said that the star had spent the past few weeks getting his affairs in order.

At the very least, Paul lived to a nice old age and got to watch his daughters grow and see his own legacy cemented.
It's a tragedy he has to suffer through this, though, instead of dying peacefully of more natural causes.
Here's to hoping Paul's suffering is minimal in his final days.

Omg.

That's sad.
Enough of this already.

It's strange how I now see him as a racing team owner and don't think of him as an actor. I'm sure I've seen him at races and didn't make a big deal of it. A great guy and this is very sad. As a race fan I will miss him for sure. Of course a great actor also.

who will there be to replace the legends of film we have known for so many years?
It wont be long before Eastwood, deniro, pacino, nicholson, duvall, redford, will be gone.
who has the staying power of these legends?

A man for whom the word LEGEND is totally deserved. Made some truly outstanding movies and will never be forgotten.

Too true. There will never be another like Newman.

Mr. Newman and Ms. Woodward have debunked the typical Hollywood actor's marriage (fifty years).
Many memorable movies; Cool Hand Luke, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, Slap Shot, The Color of Money…

Even in his 80's this man makes me melt.
My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his loved ones.

If you had not included the adjective "horrid" in your post, I would have formally requested that you be drawn and quartered for mentioning that name in the same thread as Newman.
