Was this show not fucking INCREDIBLE?

Holy shit...I was blown away by ALL the bands. For his first tour with Journey, Arnel is kickin' serious ass. :)

I'm going to have to respectfully submit the RUSH tour and the Extreme/King's X tour for consideration. I realize this is a Journey message board and the show was amazing, but there are some very talented musicians on the road right now.

I wouldn't see Rush if you put a fucking gun to my head and I don't think Extreme/King's X will garner more than 5,000 fans per show. Journey, Heart and CT are gonna average close to 20,000 for the outdoor sheds this summer. Awfully impressive.

Yeah, and Hannah Montana shows were selling out in minutes, with scalpers $1,500 apiece. Are you impressed by her as well?

While you may not be a fan of Geddy's voice, as a music fan, I would hope you recognize their talent and musical ability. RUSH was pulling around 10,000 people a night with no opening act. In this day and age, pretty impressive.

If Rush ever decided to play a show without vocals I'd be there in a second, but as long as Geddy Lee continues to sound like someone threw Mariah Carey into a fucking woodchipper I have no desire to see them.

And for whatever reason(s), it's quite obvious that Rush has a huge following.

The show was amazing! The crowd was great, I was seated 5 rows behind the 5 and 4 star packages, and all around me, almost everybody stood up and sang with the band. I did not think Arnel had to work on the crowd that much since were were all into them. Great audience!! I was surprised it was not sold out because the venue was packed :) :) :)

wtf...wake up and smell the 2000's, that was wayyy back in his younger years. His voice has mellowed greatly and he now sings in a register that compliments his voice. Sure he'll hit a high note once in a while, but for the most part his voice is laid back and easy to listen to. I was not a fan of the high shrills back in the day either. ;)

All kidding aside.....I like Journey and all....(no kidding).

But RUSH smokes them cats anyday.

Nah, I dont think so Rush fan. Journey with Steve Perry, Steve Augeri, Jeff Scott Soto, or Arnel Pineda beats Rush's ass. Its OK to feel that way though because Rush is a kick ass band, just not on Journey's level. Just look at the hits collections, that speaks for itself....
And Im sure Journey kicked ass in Va.Beach-they have done the same everywhere else.

How can you even say with a straight keystroke that Rush isn't at Journey's level? That's laughable, IMHO.

Geddy smokes Ross on bass.
Peart pummels Deen on skins(now Smitty would be ALOMOST comparable)
And Alex is JUST as good on axe

As for singing, you may have me there....but Rush's catalog is MUCH more impressive.

How can you argue 22 CONSECUTIVE gold records? And is forth behind ONLY Beatles, Stones and Kiss for all-time gold acquisistions for a band. FOURTEEN of those 22 have gone platinum.

Again, how can you even BEGIN to compare?

I begin to compare because Journey has had more hits than Rush. Ask the casual fan: Faithfully or Freewill-I guarantee Faithfully. Rush were a great band in the day but the best is behind them now and even at their best it was far below Journey. So what who the better bassist and drummer is? Ross and Steve,Deen and Ansley do whats needed for the songs they play on.

Ok, now that you've laid the groundwork, parameters, and criteria....using your logic( more hits=better), Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, and 50 Cent are better than Journey...

You heard it here Journey peeps.....
