Sammy Hagar opens restaurant at Maui Airport

US (HAWAII). Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill, a new full-service restaurant created by HMSHost in partnership American rock artist Sammy Hagar, opens today at Maui’s Kahului Airport.
The opening ceremony at 10:00am local time will be attended by HMSHost Senior Vice President, West Region Operations Joe Lutz, Hawaii Department of Transportation Deputy Director Brian Sekiguchi, and Hagar himself. It marks the first airport location for the Van Halen frontman’s signature restaurant concept.
The restaurant features signed memorabilia from Hagar’s personal collection and a full bar serving fresh fruit cocktails amidst Sammy Hagar, Van Halen and other rock- and surf-inspired music.
Travellers will be able to enjoy what is described as "classic American fare with an island twist" while relaxing in a casual, beach-inspired atmosphere, said HMSHost.
Hagar, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, will dedicate profits from the 4,000sq ft restaurant to local community children’s charities through the Hagar Family Foundation.
