White Sox vs. Cubs World Series?

With both teams in first place this late in the season, there is a good possiblity that both teams will make the post season. The question is, for the first time in 102 years, will they face each other in the World Series? Discuss.

If that happens, I'm moving.

I know how everyone (around here at least) thinks that would be cool, but if you want to see a city go completely stark-raving full-tilt apeshit, that would be the event that would do it.

The next great burning of Chicago... coming this October.
Shit... can you imagine what the Red Line would be like?? Especially with the fkn closings they're doing randomly right now. Hmm...

(Go Cubbies... )

Although I don't go for the "I like both teams mentality," I will let Cain slide since he is a local kid done well. He's proud of his town, that's a damn rare things these days ya know.

Twins vs Cubs would be better!!! But not sure if the Twins have enough late season starters to get past the White Sox.

He's a north side boy.
He better be wearing that blue proud. I just might ease up on the lad. :D
(the Cubs swag does give him one point up on the kitten beater, though)

NORTH burbanite. I realize you're still learning so I'll let this one go.
Fact: Cain falls under Cubs territory.

I believe he is a Cub fan more than a Sox fan, but I could be wrong. That would be cool if they could hitch their wagon on the Cubs run (hint: What it Takes To Win). They would have Chicago market cornered: Sox -DSB and Cubs - another song. Augeri and Cain did the 7th inning stretch and Cain and Schon National Anthem at Wrigley 3 or 4 years ago.

I know the story, BJG has shared the knowledge. Franklin and Schiller Park might as well still be the city anyway.

The White Sox don't have the pitching to get past the wild-card round. The Cubs have a much better chance.

I think the White Sox pitching is adequate enough. Danks has pitched well all year and Buehrle has been much better in the second half. Vazquez has improved also. Gavin Floyd is a good pitcher also, though he hasn't fared as well in the second half. Their bullpen is fairly strong even without Linebrink. I think they have a good shot but I would prefer it if the Red Sox made it instead. :D

The problem is, the ChiSox will have to face the Angels at some point, and they just don't have the horses. Neither do the Rays. You need 3 very good SP's to win in the MLB playoffs. Now, the NL is so weak right now that rule no longer applies.

Excuse me. *1* SP was good enough for the ChiSox. 8)

(that was lame, but obligatory)

True story:

The last time the Cubs won the Series, Ross Valory was 27 and selling dogs at Wrigley.

Now, Ross is only 94. The Cubs won in 1909. The math doesn't add up. Ross would have to be 126.
