Kentucky Student May Sue After Mall Claimed Her Dress Was Too Short for Shopping

A Kentucky college student has hired a lawyer after she was escorted out of a mall by security on Sunday because her dress was deemed too short, MyFOXBoston reports.

Kymberly Clem, a 20-year-old student at Eastern Kentucky University, wore the dress Sunday after purchasing it from the mall in Richmond the previous day, the Richmond Register reported Tuesday. After just a few minutes inside of the mall, a security guard approached her and expressed concerns over the length of the garment.

According to MyFOXBoston, the guard informed her that several female patrons had complained that she was disrupting their shopping experience because their husbands were “checking her out.”

“He made me turn all the way around while he stared me up and down,” she told the Register “The only thing he said was that other people didn’t like the way I looked, so he wanted me to leave.”

Clem’s sister Kendra told the Register that while the dress was short, it was not exposing any of her “private body parts.”

While Clem has not yet filed suit against any entity, she has hired local defense attorney Wes Browne to represent her in a possible case, the Register said.

“We’re in the beginning stages and are reviewing her legal options,” Browne said.

In the meantime however, Clem said she will be using her experience as a way to raise awareness about discrimination.

“I want to speak for everybody else who has been discriminated against but has never said anything,” she told the Register. “I want them to apologize and let them know that in this day and age, a woman has a right to wear what she wants.”

I saw this chick on the local news last night. She definitely didn't sound like the sharpest tool in the shed, but I wouldn't kick her out of my mall for wearing that skirt. In fact, I might even be tempted to "accidentally" knock her car keys out of her hand

Guys  I've seen worse things in High Schools and the girls were not sent home. And there was a dress code! I don't see how they can enforce a "dress code" unless one is posted. No shirt, No shoes, Short skirts, Go away! Unless something was hanging out, "wardrobe malfunction" I can't see where they can enforce such a thing. I see girls with more cleavage in their low rise jeans, show more than that skirt. I wouldn't let my daughter wear it, but she isn't my daughter.

She's a pretty girl... doesn't need all the hooker eyeliner, though. What's so bad about the dress? She's 20, let her do it while she can. :)

THE FUNNY THING HERE is I POSTED MY THOUGHTS before I read the article!! SO PREDICTABLE!! (REALLY I TYPED THIS OUT BEFORE READING THE ARTICLE.

the uptight mother hens at the mall who get pissed off that their husbands neck gets broken for looking at her skirt must of been the reason to kick her out!! ;-) HAHA

She should move out of that $h!t #ole community she's at and go where beauty is still acceptable and appreciated.

Stupid mall security catering to whiny hags. I hope she sues and wins.

Most bars, casinos have waitresses wearing that and worse.

Sexy girl FTW.
