OT: Reports That McCain Has Selected Mitt Romney As VP

News radio stations in Boston have been reporting today that Time Magazine has heard from "reliable sources" (whatever that means) that McCain has picked Romney as his running mate. Most people believe that if McCain wins Michigan, he's getting elected, so Romney would be a VERY logical choice to win Michigan. The guy grew up there and his dad was a long-serving, and popular governor of that state. Again, who knows if it's true, but those are the reports swirling around Boston this afternoon.

How come Massachussets is not in play if he is selected. He was elected Governor there. Would he at least make Obama et al fight to keep it.

Good. The only way McCain gets my vote is if Romney is on the ticket.

I think Massachusetts is a liberal enough state that it won't matter much if Romney is on the ticket. They are probably going to vote for Obama anyway.

Good deal, I like Romney and hoped he would get the presidential nod. I'm with T, as long it's not Obama I'm good. '

Here's a good site that will help you hone in on the issues if you're on the fence.

Obama in his own words: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articl ... n_his.html

Yes it's a partisan source...but he actually said the things he is quoted as saying...makes Dan Quayle looks like a freaking nuclear engineer!

I get the (thousands against 12) argument, that's just speaking without knowing what you're talking about. No presidential candidate should ever do that. granted. But the 57 instead of 47 thing is WAY overblown. Anyone could make a mistake like that, running on no sleep and campaigning your ass off. Fuzzy headed, you know? I'm no big Obama flag waver, and right now I don't have a candidate that I would vote for, but for me, voting for McCain is certainly voting for at least 4 more years of the same shit we've endured for the last 8. I certainly don't know how that sounds good to anyone.

John McCain will be HUGELY differnent than George Bush.

There are thing I dislike about both of them, but the one of the things most important to me that Obama and his type don't get but BOTH McCain and Bush do is this: You CANNOT tax your way to properity.

This statement is completely absurd. So you're saying that if Obama gets elected we'll be a communistic state? Barb. I love ya, but that's as I said before absurd. Did you say that about Clinton?

Thanks for the link. Can you supply one that's credible? That article is so one sided and full of speculative thinking that I'm frankly surprised you posted it. You'z my boy an all, but dayum.

Politics isn't my thing, as you're well aware, but even my casual political brain can read through the bullshit on that article.

I could dig up stuff on McCain speculatively that would make him look like Shirley Temple if I were that creative. ;)

With all of that said, I still don't have a candidate that I feel comfortable voting for. I am just not going to believe that Obama is a Marxist or Communist.

Sorry, but ABC, NBC...etc. Aren't too keen on reporting on negative stuff about democrats. Don't believe it? A perfect example is just a few weeks ago. If I wanted to get info to you about Edwards affair. The only link about it would be the National Enquirer.
Here try this one, both Obama and Hillary flocked to Saul Alinsky a well known commie/socialist.

Wait...you recently claimed communism was an "economic approach" and not a political one.

MY GOD, you are ignorant. Obama has made gaffes, as has McCain. It's to be expected. Besides the "57 states" reference meant he had been in 57 states in those days - i.e. he criscrossed several on his way through.

RWF, with all due respect...there are more Democrats in the U.S. than Republicans.

Yet only Olbermann's show is representative of Democratic ideals. On the other side of the aisle, you have dozens of conservative disinformation talk show specialists (Hannity, O'Reilly, Katz, Limbaugh, et cetera). Still, more Americans identify with left-leaning principles than do not. That means that horde of overly represented right-wing hosts and TV shows is speaking to an ever-diminishing audience.

Terrible candidates every year below the border. Can't you all fix this? We have better health care, better politics except for Quebec too. Yet the so-called greatest power in the world can never find a leader?

Yeah, good luck to all those Frenchies in Quebec and their relentless pursuit of the unobtainable.

America has had Quayle, Carter, Dukakis, Mondale, and Kemp. Beat that!
