Post clips of your favorite Aussie bands or solo artists here:
Obvious choice is AC/DC but there's a whole lot more.

Two from Icehouse:

Always laugh at the way he starts the song off, his voice crackin. That's a great track though.

When Reminiscing came out I thought, what a hokey song. It was getting played all the time, radio, school dances, etc.

Not a rock song, not even a power ballad but good little tune. I'll always favor the original but Farnham's does a good job on it.

It was a favorite of Frank Sinatra and John Lennon. A sung that everyone likes, also one of the most played songs in the history of American radio.

MTV really helped Icehouse. Their surreal videos were cool.

Wow, never heard them called that before...more than a dozen hit albums here and one of the country's biggest and most respected bands. Several hit albums in Europe and USA also. Amazing musicians...

Singer Peter Garret is now our Federal Minister for the Enviroment.

Ya gotta admit, Garret had his own style. Quite an outfit here.

The Go-Betweens, 'Streets of Your Town' - one my favourite songs - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L33mpJO2MaE

Coouldn't pick a single Hoodoo Gurus track, so I'll post the only one I know of where Brad Shepherd sings lead, 'You Open My Eyes' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BliVDecpG_k

The Church getting mellow, "Under The Milkyway' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNhR-PrTAFE

The Mark Of Cain - it's a crappy vid, but the only one I could find. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj0KBwxM0eM These guys are serious fun to go see live (and I spent enough of my dissolute youth doing just that to know!)

The Tatts!! With Angry sounding like he'd never even contemplate recording a sappy piece of crap for a sappy, crappy soapie wedding! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbOxLEvE ... re=related

Baby Animals - great live version of 'Rush You' live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh-CntG7 ... re=related

Jet - after listening to too much Beatles - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD1cxSE25ck and after too much AC-DC - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjtTCRVI ... re=related

And to really go waaaaaaay back, The Masters Apprentices in a more sedate moment, 'It's Because I Love You' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKE2hmgz ... re=related (if for nothing else, than because I love the philosophy: "Do what you wanna do, be what you wanne be")

Give me a little more thinking time and I'll dig up some more.

Shoot, you really got me going with this thread!

Ok, some more - and then I'm going to stop for a while, at least until a few more people post on this thread. 8)

You Am I ‘Jewels And Bullets’ - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqvLy8YB ... re=related

The Whitlams ‘Royal In The Afternoon’ - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Xmla0xw73A

The Predators ‘Pick Up The Pace’ - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnWQ7Hio-nA

Powderfinger ‘Sunsets’ (they have better songs, but this is a cool clip) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZo1S-rPM-8

Beast of Bourbon ‘Chase The Dragon’ - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZo1S-rPM-8 (mmmm, Tex Perkins...)

A little taster from an Aussie band that deserves a hell of a lot more recognition (snarf!) – Sensative New Age Cowpersons http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tkcl-Pfg ... re=related The only guys who do the Australian National Anthem properly (and you haven’t lived until you’ve heard their bluegrass version of ‘Highway To Hell’.)

Early 90’s poseurs, Ratcat (but I still love ‘em) ‘That Ain’t Bad’ - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AjK6KWu ... re=related

Spiderbait ‘Buy Me Pony’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsTELu-KpbY

The Vines ‘Anysound’ - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiIboq6X ... re=related

Unfortunately, I can’t find any links for Exploding White Mice, and all my EWM albums got stolen while I was overseas (if I ever track down that bitch!...) – but well worth looking out for.

Good links Arianddu, never heard of a few of those. The Hoodoo Guru's answered my question if there were any Aussie grunge bands. About the closest I've seen.

If you're going to post a John Farnham-LRB clip, I think you ought to go with "We Two":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsGkSDHJY3Y

After the guitar break (not really a solo), they come back in and John goes up for "....AND NOW!!" (around 2:25) that gives me chills every time. A MONSTER vocalist!

no shit man, Icehouse was awesome in 88. That album, I think it was called "Electric Blue" was great. "Crazy" and the title track both kick ass tunes that I still stop for today....

I think that was the last song that charted for them in the 80's. I like "Please Don't Ask Me" but it's more John's song than LRB even though Graham wrote it.
