I don't agree. Payton was a great, great player. That said that, out of the running backs I've seen in my lifetime, Barry was head and shoulders above EVERYONE, including Walter. Sanders played on HORRENDOUS teams, and NEVER, EVER, EVER had an offensive line. Emmitt Smith got all the hype and wasn't half the talent that Sanders was. The difference is that Emmitt had one of the greatest offensive lines ever assembled, which can make any back look good!
