Just found out that the site has a votes-based category for foreign songs. For the latest week, the Foreign Voter's Hitlist shows After All These Years at #1, up 2 notches from #3 last week:

The site has, moreover, an overall category, represented by the Grand Voter's Hitlist, and as of now, AATY has inched up past 3 levels settling at #3 from #6 last week:

I tried voting and this is what I got:

Your vote for "After All These Years" by Journey has been cast.
You may vote again in 59 minutes and 59 seconds.
To go back to the vote page, you may click here.
Or you may go to the Chart Central Blog for the latest countdown updates.

So really, it's very easy to get to number 1. I'm sure I can play with my browser and I should be able to vote again before the hour is up. With a little script, I'm sure I can do it automatically. I think a rating should be based on Album sales and how frequently it is being requested for airplay. The latter isn't even that accurate because a small number of fans can request for a song to be played repeatedly making it appear that it is very popular.

Personally, I would be more thrilled to see Revelation on number 1 in the album sales category but that is not going to happen soon without any promotions from MCA Music.

The album chart (The Philippines Hot Albums) is anchored on market offtake:
The Philippines Hot Albums is based on combined sales data from Astroplus/Astrovision and Odyssey music stores.

Only the song charts (Foreign Voter's Hitlist and Grand Voter's Hitlist) are founded on data from online voting...
Well, they are what they are, no more no less--Voter's Hitlists, as exactly named...for all their inherent disadvantages and ambiguities.

I think there will be another 2-3K before 100% of the sales this week are thru--good showing this late in the game, in my opinion.

Sales have been robust, indeed. I was told and posted about 2 months ago that there were high hopes within the band that Revelation could stay between 10k and 15k through the end of the tour. Seems like that is going to happen.
