Can Journey & AP ...

sing the National Athems (USA & Philippines ) on December 6, Oscar "Golden Boy" dela Hoya vs Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao fight and play "don't stop believing" and "will to win" as the fighters ring entrance?!?

this is the biggest boxing event this year and is expected to hit 1 million or more PPV buys...

if this could happen, imho it will benefit marketing wise both journey and the fight itself, both will be opened to a different audience...

for us pinoys THIS IS BIG and already some "forum" discussion at manny's site are made who should sing our National Anthem and what should be PACMAN's ring Entrance song be ... Pride is of utmost importance, choice from our best singers which include Arnel were mentioned, faithful/hopeful track like "dont' stop believing" pops up, but bamboo's "NOYPI" (pinoy) boils the nationalistic fervor...

i posted this question here for two reason...

1-i like to know what journey fans think about this and
2-i know the big boys visit the forums and they do listen to their journey fans here at M.R.,

maybe just maybe something could happen...

so guys could you please comment on this if this is possible? would their schedule allow? and is it a good or a bad idea?

Assuming they can, and will, the appropriate scenario would obviously be Journey as a whole (being an American band) singing the American anthem, and AP alone (being a Filipino citizen) singing the Phlippine anthem.

I think Arnel will be home by that time, trying to recover from this tour. Journey aren't the Backstreet Boys, I don't see them harmonizing on this. Usually a lounge act sings anyway. It would be a stepdown for the group.
