So since you veered us askew, I shall in turn take the opportunity to vent... There is always a good bit of stress and last minute prep before a trip, but this s#$t takes the cake -- we've been without power for 2 days now, and on top of that just discovered a small leak at the turban in our roof, and it's started spreading to drip on our daughter's ceiling, which is getting damp... no sag yet, but this is a whole new level of pre-trip stress... And somehow I have to find a way to get ready before the sun goes down so we will have light. Hey, I guess I could go to Wal Mart and find some alternative lighting source besides candles...

You know what, today I think I am just going to praise God. I really have been short on that lately...

Thanks, I still feel like yesterday was totally surreal. Ok, enough of that. I'll save some of it for tomorrow!
And you're welcome... oil lamps are a quick and easy alternative to lighting. Take it from a girl who grew up in a log cabin in Boonville where power went out constantly in the winter. If anyone knows survival techniques, it's me. The lamps at Wal-Mart are about $4 each and the oil is about $1... get a few bottles, it burns quick. Just open a window if you burn it for too long. The fumes give ya migraines.
