Which is correct "deep-seeded" or "deep-seated"?

(Definitions)

Both Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and the OED2 (Complete) agree that the correct term is "deep-seated", having its seat far beneath the surface.

"Deep-seeded" does not have an entry in either dictionary.

Deep seeded = planted deep, hence the use of "seed". I think that's where Stock is coming from on this... never having researched the exact etymology of it, I could be wrong, but that's the logical analysis. "Seeded" seems more correct (not that either are wrong).

Reading back to this first thread and my first reaction, how could he not be proud. It's a small part of this election's history. In my opinion, it's the best use of the song, for any reason thus far. The song has a wealth of potential for it's significance and it will go on and on and on. At this point, it has a life of it's own.
