This doesn't surprise me in the least! I love their music, but you don't get much farther left than those two. These musicians and actors need to just shut their pieholes and do whatever the hell they do for a living! It goes both ways...If someone's a diehard republican and a musician...I could care less, and think they should keep their opinions to themselves.

All of these people who come out and say "if he gets elected, I'm moving to Europe"...Good! Get the fuck outta here and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out! Alec Baldwin can take all his friends from Hollywood with him, and the world would be a much better place!

How do you think the band members of Journey will be voting?

Regardless of whatever party an artist supports/belongs to, any use of that artist's music should be cleared with the artist first and foremost. It is done routinely in movies and TV, so politics should not be exempt.

I do agree with that too! I think no matter what it's for, they should always have the artists permission before using their tunes. I was just referring to their outspoken political beliefs. Reminds me of REO... Why can't he just shut up and sing??? I saw them with Journey a few years ago, and while I loved their set list...He just had to throw in his rants about the war and spew out his beliefs....People at the concert were like "STFU and sing dumbass"!!!

I guess it playing once in the background in an arena doesn't seem to me to be "using". And again...Journey didn't bitch about DSB being used.

Journey didn't bitch because all Neal was seeing was $$$$$, and they wanted to be relevant again........

Where I agree they have the right, do they consider the costs? No one hears the tunes and think they vote for them. And being hard nosed can get you bad press, which no artist needs.

I disagree. I think there are plenty of people who hear the music and think the band must support that candidate. And if that is the case, it can be just as divisive to the fan base. Politics has that affect of making people take sides. You can lose fans for being politically vocal. And nowhere did the band state WHO they support or don't so the negative backlash from "fans" should be next to nothing.

Then you'll be missing the biggest surprise of the show. Heart put on a phenomenal show, especially Ann singing the Who "Love Reign O'er Me." Your loss.

The irony of playing Barracuda. Research should be done before supporting your campaign without consent. Heart’s Barracuda was written in response to the music industry moguls towards them. If Plymouth (Chrysler resurrects) reintroduced the Cuda’… I choose Won’t Get Fooled Again. And we hold the Wilson sisters with the highest esteem.

McCain hasn’t even taken the oath of office and we’re already granted a sneak peep at what the next four years will bring.
When and if McCain should breaks the law (in this case, intellectual property theft), his followers will dutifully spin and point the finger at wild-eyed liberals.
Good to know.

Obama didn't get permission from Brooks & Dunn for using "Only in America." What do you think about that. On a side note to that, that song didn't fit, it was actually uncomfortable and very pandering.

Same rule applies.
I would think campaign officials would have more legal sense than your avg. music pirating teen.

Not my kind of music, but I had no problem with it.
