Yup. I hate it every time some far out crazy freak pulls this sort of shit. I've done my time protesting clear felling of old timber, because frankly I think it's criminally dumb to use a 600 year old hardwood tree to make fucking woodchip! But there is a clearly thought out logic, complete with alternative, economically viable options, behind that stance, not some dumb-ass wailing that "I need to scream for the trees". I mean hell, that first woman was obviously working herself into hysteria for the camera!

I don't think we need to get rid of the timber industry, I just think we need to be smart and careful about it with regards what we cut down and what we use it for. And we need to take into account the ecosystem involved.

People like this give hippies a bad name. Which as a dyed-in-the-wool hippiekid really pisses me off. Quit whining about one young tree stump for the cameras, go out and join with the members of the Timber Workers of America in supporting the legislation to allow THC free hemp to be legally grown for wood pulp purposes so that hardwoods stop going into fucking paper mills and woodchip.

So that's what passes for a reunion these days! I told McCartney and Ringo to stay the hell away from my trees but they just don't listen - bloody Beatles!

As for actual beetles - I live in the UK and used to see them around quite often but I can honestly say I haven't seen one in years, same with woodlice. It's all annoying little flies and occasionally flying ants now over here.
