You'd figure if I were gonna see Journey it would be in my own city but no.

Had to run all the way to Ohio for that. Tinley Park is useless unless you have actual
seats anyway. Was there on the lawn for Journey 2006 and it wasn't a great experience.

Seats and in the center. Preferably in the 100 sections.

Exactly. That place sucks, otherwise. And its too far, and the traffic always bites ass. I
really miss Poplar Creek... that was a much better outdoor venue than The World (or whatever its name is this month

).

And you can stay at my place. Actually, I can't complain about the prices here versus what I've seen other venues charging.

Who else would be in the car but you?
Either way, we have the permanent shotgun pact.
But if I'm not going to Tinley Park, IL, I'm sure as hell not going to St. Louis.
(unless there free seats .. LOL!)

No way, no how. Not enough time Friday to get done what I need to and get down there.

For those of you planning on going - leave yourselves lots and lots and lots of time to get there. To say traffic will be bad is a major understatement. Last time Journey played there, some friends of mine reported a four hour trip from Mt. Prospect, which is a little NW of Chicago.

I bought my seats through Amex...no idea where I will sit until I get to will call....

I MISS POPULAR CREEK,TOO! I wish the rumors were true that Sears was going to build an outdoor facility near the Sears Center. I took the day off of work to beat traffic

I'll be there. I'm pumped out of my mind. Seeing them tomorrow night in Indianapolis to get warmed up for Chicago. I've never had a problem with the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre. I've sat pavilion a couple of times for shows and lawn a couple of times, and never really had any issues. I'm coming from Central Illinois and plan on arriving in Tinley Park around 5:00. I wonder what kind of crowd we're expecting. I saw Def Leppard and Journey there in 2006 on a Wednesday night, and there were 22,000 people. I'm saying at least that many on Friday night.

The "walk-up" crowd will mandate nice weather. If there
is nice weather you can expect
at least 25,000 people. Otherwise expect right around 20,000. I'm interested to hear how local radio (mainly The Loop) promotes the show.

In 2006, the rain started to fall RIGHT at the opening notes of Open Arms, very lightly, increasing as the song moved on. It would have been cinematic if I wasn't stuck IN the shit up on that stupid lawn.

That is a lousy place to be if it rains. The whole thing is steeply angled. If it rains, it just runs down the lawn, the steps, and accumulates near the front. Was there once for it. Vowed to not go near the place again if rain was forecast.

I'll be there. I couldn't sell my tickets. I'm working late on Thurs so I can leave at 4:00 on Friday. I have pavilion seats, so I'm not too worried about the rain. I'll be the only one with an 8-year-old redhead as my concert buddy! We won't be leaving the house until about 4:45, so I doubt we'll make it in time to see Cheap Trick at 7:00. I REALLY wish Journey would stop playing at Tinley!

Ah yes, I remember that. I was in the lawn for that one too, so I know exactly what you're talking about. Let's hope the rain holds out for Friday.

Helicopter is your best bet on a Friday evening.
