Not sure what people think of this band but tonight I was checking out various videos on youtube and ran across this tune by SteelHeart. I've never even heard of this band ever before. But what struck me the most was how much Arnel sounded exactly like this guy in the highest registers of the song back when I knew Arnel in the AMO Band. The song sounds so familiar for some reason to me, so I can't help but wonder if I had ever heard Arnel sing it before. I'll ask Arnel the next time we talk if he had ever done this tune with AMO. I swear I think I heard him do this one before. This StealHeart Band I think may have had a following in the Philippines, judging from all of the people who commented in tagalog on various youtube clips of this song. But if you never heard Arnel sing 20 years ago live, this video below comes the closest to it that I've ever heard.

And what is even more interesting is the fact that a guy in Korea can also sing this tune. Fuck, if I attempted to do this tune, I bet I could hit the notes but I bet my friggin head would explode within a minute from the blood pressure. They are definitely red lining it here.

Seems the Koreans love this fucking song. Here's a Korean amature karaoke moment with "She's Gone":

There's no doubt that guy can hit some glass-shattering high notes. He doesn't have much to the bottom end, though.

This is the one I remember being played a lot by them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62Nb9oYTAqQ

This is the singer who is on the soundtrack along with JSS for the movie Rock Star.

yep i remember that was the one big hit they had back in 1990 that was played on the radio quite a bit and the self titled album it was from did pretty well too but after that i don't think they did anything much chartwise.

JSS did backing vocals on the follow up steelheart album in 1992 titled 'tangled in reins'.

I've always loved Steelheart. Those are 2 great songs "She's Gone" and "I'll Never Let You Go". I dont think there are too many out there who can hit those notes as consistently as he did. The funny thing about it is that he STILL CAN!
