First Ed Hoculi, nor Bill Corolo.....Something needs to be done about this shit....

Eli Manning was more in the grasp on that fucking throw to Tyree than Cassel was on that play.....

Yeah.....but any team that beats them this year....hasn't really accomplished anything. Without Brady, they are a pop warner team. Empty victories abound.

That was the first thing that came to mind. We got screwed out of a touchdown on that one! But, it doesn't matter since we are getting our ass kicked by Ronnie Brown.

Ehhh...not a Pats fan, per se....but I can't let all these peeps say that their team is 'better'. If Brady is playing this game, the score is 48-35....Pats.

The air has left this team....Brady is out....this team is done. I'd be surprised if this team wins another game.

Brady has vision where Cassel has none. Maybe that will improve, maybe not. If not, we are done. Record 6-10

And for all you people who are going to say that Brady doesn't control the defense, think again....if Barady was in there SUSTAINING drives, that's LESS time for Miami to score points.....Brady is like SMFP....He IS the Pats.....

I 've seen it happen to my Steelers before...I recall a couple of AFC Championships where they were favored and just didn't show up...so I understand the feeling here.

A couple of years ago, the Pats lost their opener to Buffalo AT HOME 34-0. They won 14 of 15 and then the Super Bowl.

Not saying that's going to happen this year...but it's far too early to throw in the towel now.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

You can throw the towel in! This wasn't Buffalo. It was a bad Miami team who looked like world beaters out there! As I said within 2 minutes of Tom Brady's injury, the Patriots are done! Brady is one of the top 3 QB's to ever play in the NFL. Recovering from that kind of a loss simply isn't happening. Also, Cassel is DREADFUL. I honestly thought the Patriots would cut him, after seeing just how horrrendous he looked in the pre-season!

Arrogant??? Brady??? What the hell are you listening to? The guy isn't remotely arrogant, AT ALL. If he were, you'd never know it, because he NEVER does interviews with anyone. He has an agreement with a Boston radio station (through the Patriots) where he calls in once a week, during the season, for a quick Q & A session. Other than that, he does his required press times that are mandated by the NFL (which include Wednesday and immediately after the week's game).

His disposition is eerily similar to that of how Montana carried himself. The only difference is Brady dates much hotter chicks, and the tabloids follow the guy around, because of his celebrity girlfriends. Even with his high profile girlfriend, you hear more about Tony Romo's escapades with Jessica Simpson in a week than you've heard about Brady's escapades his entire career, and I even include him knocking up Bridget Moynihan! I've never heard one single NFL type (player, coach, or media member) refer to Brady as "arrogant". Most have gone out of their way to comment on how humble the guy has remained, even after all the success he has had. Brady has NEVER, EVER, EVER once put down an opponent or even predicted a victory, so I'm not really sure how you came to the conclusion that this guy is arrogant. It sounds like a classic case of "sour grapes", which is typical of Steelers fans who could never beat the guy!

If you like the guy, it's confidence, if not, it's arrogance.

There is website after website discussing this very topic, so there has to be something to it.

He eschews his fans and the general public like they are diseased. Not sure what you call that, but it begins to reek of arrogance.

Sorry J from B, but I disagree with you here.

Fuck dude...you need to take a pill or something. I was making a damn joke!!! I say Brady is the best QB ever and you spend 10 sentences on how he isn't arrogant.

And we have so beaten Brady...during the 15-1 season in 2004...the problem was beating him in the playoffs that year!

No go do a shot or down a lude or something! Christ, get off your high horse and laugh once in a while!

Very true...after yesterdays Steeler game looks like the upcoming Pats-Steelers game is going to be an exercise in ineptitude!

Come on Stu! You wouldn't take the Patriots' problem of losing your starting QB on a bet! I know Ben left for awhile yesterday, but he was back on the sideline, still in uniform, so I doubt it was anything that will keep him out, for even a week. The difference is that the Steelers actually have a backup QB who has been a starter in the NFL. The Patriots starter managed to go his entire college career (backing up Carson Palmer and Matt Leinert) without ever playing, so the dude hasn't played since high school! The Steelers lost to what I think is a pretty good Eagles team (assuming Westbrook isn't too severely hurt). When this season is over, the Steelers will be in the playoffs...the Patriots won't be! The great thing for me is that even after the Steelers beat the Patriots this season, it still doesn't mean anything, because it's simply the Steelers beating up on a JV team! Maybe the Steelers will at least not run their mouths this season and concentrate on trying to win football games!

Steelers not run their mouths? Sure, and the economy is going to grow 10% this year! Although they transferred some of their yapping to the Dolphins now that Joey Porter is with the Fins.

That's what I meant! This game is a classic example of why I get pissed off when I hear dopey cheeseheads tell me Favre is the best QB, ever! That is fucking laughable! Favre isn't in the top 5, ever and you could probably make a compelling case that he isn't even in the top 10 of all time, and I don't give a rat's ass what his records are! He makes too many mistakes! Also, for all the touchdowns the guy has thrown, he has also thrown more interceptions than any QB in the history of the game!

My Top 5 in order from 1 to 5...(personal opinion here)

Brady
Montana
Unitas
Marino
Bradshaw

There are others you could name...Namath, Peyton Manning, Starr, Tarkenton, Staubach, Aikman, Elway, and THEN, MAYBE Favre.

This is always an interesting debate. I loved Joe Montana, but I believe Brady is a better passer than Montana was. The other factor is that Montana played with a FAR better supporting cast than Brady has played with for most of his career. Prior to last season, Brady's cast of receivers has been AWFUL, and Montana played with the best receiver in this history of the NFL! As for Unitas, I can't really intelligently comment on Unitas, because he was before my time. Looking at his career statistics, they're nothing spectacular. He only threw for more than 3000 yards twice in a very long 17 year career and only threw for more than 25 touchdowns twice in a 17 year career. To be fair to Johnny U., the NFL season was only 14 games for most of his career (and was 12 for the first 5). I know that football historians view Unitas favorably, so who am I to argue. As for Marino...He was a GREAT pure passer and decision maker. The guy almost never got touched, which was amazing, because he was slow as shit. Bradshaw has always been the tough one for me. He and Aikman are easily the two least talented HOF QB's in the history of the NFL. Both guys have DREADFUL numbers, for guys who are in the HOF. That said, because Bradshaw is one of only two QB's (Montana being the other one) in the history of the NFL to win 4 super bowls, it's very difficult to not have him on the list, but it still makes me cringe seeing his name on there! As for the rest of the list, I'd rank Manning and Elway ahead of everyone else on the list. Didn't Tarkenton somehow manage to lose 4 Super Bowls??? He and Jim Kelly would be great friends

#1. Every game played in the NFL matters. That one loss against a shitty/powerhouse team in a Conference can decide your teams fate in a snap of a finger at the end of Week 17.

At the end of the day a team can point their finger at Week 2 where they lost to a common opponent in their conference or division foe and say "That timeout we used early in the 4th quarter came back to haunt us late in that game...and who would of thought it cost us a tie breaker between a team with the same record who happens to have a better record against teams in the conference?" Every W means SOMETHING... a big something.

That being said... That massacre that the Steelers gave NE at Pittsburgh in week 8..ended up being that one win difference maker over New England for home field advantage. New England stood toe to toe with the Steelers for home field and threatened the Steelers to keep on winning..until Miami's thrilling win on 4th down to beat N.E 29-28. That loss sprung Pittsburgh to the #1 seed in the AFC.

We all know what happened next. .NE feasting on Pittsburgh's beat up souls in the AFCCG on a lopsided payback victory on route to a SB win.

EVERY GAME MATTERS.

Dude...you're missing the point! I never suggested that certain games don't matter! My comment to Stu was that the Steelers never beat the Patriots when it actually matters, and by that, I was referring to the playoffs! Regular season games mean a lot during the regular season. Come playoff time, they're irrelevant! Hopefully, you Steelers fans will enjoy your season, and not having to deal with the Patriots bitch slapping those trash talking mouths shut, AGAIN!

I took your statement as we never beat Brady in a --game-- that mattered. Your right we never beat Brady in the playoffs, but did beat N.E in the '97 Divisional Round 7-6.

As for enjoying the season... if they don't work on that offensive line.....IN THE MATTER OF 7 days...then we could possibly be sitting home with you at the end of the season enjoying jack squat, Johnny. I'm optimistic for an offensive line that had many question marks coming into the season and having a game where they looked like complete fools, having a chance to respond to adversity. How will they respond? I'm eager to find out. Exploited weakness is one thing.. finding a solution speaks wonders. We'll see. As for NE.. I wasn't worried about them even with Brady in the lineup. That defense is showing their age more and more each week. Trash talking is part of the game, and we never took it past that..like NE did with their victories. (Waving Terrible Towels, Dancing on SD's field and cockin' off to the fans, etc.) But your right, we don't have to look forward to a punk guaranteeing any early victories. I'm sure he learned his lesson...he sits the bench.

??? Did the NFL actually fire a ref that cost San Diego the game? If so ,that would mean that they notice a problem. Who wants to spend 200.00 to go to a game and then watch your teams win given away.

Of course they didn't fire Ed Hochuli, nor should they have! Listen, San Diego CLEARLY got fucked by Hochuli blowing his whistle WAY too soon! It doesn't change the fact that he's been a solid official for years, and he's allowed to make a mistake. The bottom line is the guy fucked up, but would NEVER be fired for that. It's not like it was malicious!
