Hah. Ya think? I forded some deep water that Saturday trying to get to the bank and run errands. Lucky I had on flip flops and shorts too because I had to wade through foot-deep water in some parking lots. Took me over an hour to get home from the grocery store which is less than two miles away because of pre-emptive road closures diverting traffic through strip mall lots. Getting to work last Monday took 3 hours (18 miles) because of flooding closures. I work just east of a major river so all my normal routes were either impassable or backed up for miles. Bleh.

Yep... no lie. I-190, which is the highway that goes into O'Hare, was closed because it was under water, along with damn near everything else around it. A of a couple days ago, some streets were still closed. It was record rainfall and broke a record from 21 years ago.

Should have taken a picture of the ducks swimming in my front yard. Whole sections of my town were blocked off because the flooding was so bad. Can we say major mosquito invasion in the next few days courtesy of all that standing water?

Yeah, I've never seen anything like that. Most ramps, and I would think O'Hares is no different, have many large storm drains. I'm sure the drains were full also.

NW Indiana got it bad as well. The water was almost up to my parents front door. The schools were closed and roads impassable
