I had roommates in college (you know who you are, you mooching bastards) who lived like that. I was the full-time maid.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

There are no words to convey just how disgusting that is! What a fucking pig! How ANY human could ever live like that is beyond my level of comprehension!

How does one go about trying to clean up a place like that? The ceiling, walls and floors would have to be replaced, not to mention the possibility of the main structure or support beams themselves depending on what has seeped through to the wood. I'm thinking a professional cleaning team in FULL GEAR suits would have to do it because of the bacteria and POOP! What a horrid job to have.

As people pointed out in the thread, if anyone erad it, It's possibly due to addiction of some kind or depression...

Someone also pointed out that the keyboard was cleaned off and the mouse could move on the PC, so I would also guess Everquest or World Of Warcraft

I'd never ever touch a job like that if I were the landlord... I'd definitely call in professional services, and they would likely call in hazmat, like you said because of the bacterial and fecal hazards (both human and animal from what I can see in those pictures), and lord only knows what ELSE the hell is in and under all that.

Again I ask, "what the shit?!?!?!"

LOL

I AM an apartment manager & in college was a dorm manager.

I have seen pretty bad but never saw it that bad!

I've had pretty bad dorms with pizza under beds & the beer bottles all over
but that is a health hazard!

Disgusting pigs had to be addicts of some sort.
I don;t think a normal human being can get a place to be that funky!

I have had hoarders with newspaper & boxes & bags piled to the ceiling
but this is food stuff & those rank ciggie butts...

Now I feel better as my piggies are clean piggies...

That's pretty bad. They say two cats were supposed to be living in there somewhere. I bet those pusses ran out the front door the first opportunity they got.

Maybe that's why they haven't been able to contact the tenant!!! She may be under there somewhere.

This is from a mental illness.

They are what we call horders they throw nothing away and let it stack up high. Usually they do not clean. Many collect animals as well and claim they love them, but the animals overpopulate, and the unsainitary conditions usually make the animals sick. Many of the animals become ferrel and have to be euthenized. They usually find dead animals amoungst the filth.

Bye bye kitty. What animal could live in all that?

Absolutely nothing safe about that. There was a house on a street a few blocks over from my street a few years back that I used to have to walk down to get to the train station. On my way, I would pass this place and the windows were open all the time. Once the drapes were removed and there I could see a ceiling fan not moving, and had literally a complete net of dusty cobb webs on it and over the entire ceiling. The owner eventually evicted the fucking people living there, three overweight women. They began the operation by bringing in this huge empty iron dumpster box and placing it in the drive way. And then they removed the windows of the house and just went in with gloves, coveralls, and shit breathers and just threw everything out the window and directly into the iron dumpster box. The place was exactly like what was in those pix from what I've been told by people who actually went up to take a closer look.

Once they removed everything, they had to replace the floor (wood and carpeting), replace all the plumbing, all the fixtures in the bathrooms and kitchen, and most of the interior drywall. Wasn't cheap either. They spent something like 100,000 doing all that. But you know the biggest expense out of all of that is the labor cost.
