Yes frontman Jon Anderson posted this comment online late last week - he is not happy about the band's plans to tour without him:
September 18, 2008 "Disappointed, and very Disrespected / Disappointed that, with the exception of one phone call from Alan, none of the guys have been in touch since my illness, just to find out how I am doing, and how we will foresee the future for YES. And disappointed that they were not willing to wait till 2009 when I'm fully recovered.
And I feel very disrespected, having spent most of this year creating songs and constant ideas for the band, spending time with Roger Dean creating a stage design, also working with VH1 and Sirius and XM Radio to help promote the welfare of YES.
Getting sick was not "on my radar”, and I thank my own angel Janeee and my family for helping me through this difficult time, and the many well wishers, friends and fans alike, for understanding that ''things happen''. Of course I wish the guys all the best in their 'solo' work, but I just wish this could have been done in a more gentlemanly fashion. After all YES is a precious musical band. This is not YES on tour..."

I'm glad you started this. All I say is if Neal and Jon were in Yes they would've waited until 2009. They wait for singers. They gave Perry nearly two years and after he didn't come to a conclusion on what to do, they FINALLY and RIGHTFULLY say we are moving on. Mind you, this was already after waiting 9-11 years. They're loyal people.

I think it's more of a cross between the end of the Augeri era and the Perry era.

If what he's saying is true then they should have waited for him. Unless he's a friend of Perry's.

The thought of Yes being Yes without Jon Anderson is a joke. Oh wait.

Much like Rush, I find these guys insanely painful on the ears. Personal preference. Nothing more, John.

I loved 90125 and Big Generator, but could never get into the rest of their stuff (the REAL Yes according to fans). I had to sing "Roundabout" once in a band. Great organ there, but THE DUMBEST lyrics ever. Still, Anderson has a very unique voice that I like.

Much of Jon Anderson's lyrics, especially during their first several albums never made any sense because he wrote in a streams-of-consciousness style of writing.

Right or wrong, this was too, too funny. Loyal how? Its a business not a friendship. They waited for SPerry 'cause of the cashola. They stopped waiting 'cause some cashola is better than none.

Same goes for NO, I mean YES!

Loyalty does not sell concert tickets. Being there ready to sing (or lip) does.

LOL...more like a stream of an acid trip style of writing.

I remember seeing them on, dont quote me, the Open Your Eyes tour...and Anderson started going into this disturbing monologue about how flowers can talk...and how they scream when you cut them...and how they can sing when you give them light....etc...etc...he then introduced the next song and proclaimed that he was going to sing it "as if he were a flower."


I turned to my friend who dragged me to the show...and went "Jon Anderson does *not* have an elevator that goes to the top floor"

Didn't Chris Squire and Jimmy Page visit Journey at the same show this year? Maybe Journey's success with Arnel planted the idea of replacing singers in both of their minds.

I was thinking the same last night but was too tired to post it. There's no way that's just a coincidence...no way. I agree with Zeppelin forging ahead because Plant doesn't want to sing, which is certainly his right, but the situation with YES, if Anderson is telling the truth, is much different.

Yes is a SENSATIONAL band. Highly underrated.

Most 70's bands are long forgotten by radio, imo. Even the so called classic rock stations just play the same stuff over and over. You'll be lucky to hear Roundabout on a CR station. The only I've heard is Owner of a Lonely Heart which is def a great song.
