Has anyone seen the Eagles this tour?

Postby Tito » Thu Sep 25, 2008 6:26 am

I'm debating whether i should run down to the United Center tonight to see them. Anyone seen them this tour and if it would be worth it?

Yes! Yes! Yes! Saw them 2 weeks ago. GO MAN.

3 hours w/ intermission. Old stuff, new stuff, everyone's solo stuff, professionally produced and lighted, the guys all sound great.

In a class all by themselves.

They're in town for two nights. And I wish I were going. The Eagles are my second favorite band ever. If they weren't at the United Center and at the Allstate Arena or if I had realized they were in town before two days ago, I would've been there in a heartbeat. :(

It was free. Too late. That's why I'm working late. My boss took someone else. I'd rather work than see them.

Agreed. Even though Journey has always been my favorite band, The Eagles are easily the most talented group of guys I have ever come across. They all still sound amazingly great and Henley still looks like he's 35!

"Hell Freezes Over" is in my car's cd player right now. Their songs could easily just be superimposed on any moment in life and fit perfect. 8)

Absolutely you should go! Saw them a couple of weeks ago here and also last year here.

They are awesome! Such talent by so many...I don't care what their political views are..it's all about the music.

I read recently that they hate each other, don't even fly together..can you say egos?

Oh, and their latest CD is very good.

Henley and Frey did an interview on 60 Minutes last year, and it was VERY evident during that interview that these two guys have never seen eye to eye on many issues. To their credit, they didn't even hide the fact that they don't get along so well. Too bad Schon and Perry couldn't put the music ahead of their disdain for each other!

I saw that interview also. It was clear there was no love lost there. It's cool that they can deal with that as a separate issue and continue the band.

I wish... they catch flak because they play to strict click tracks and there is NO variation show to show, but let's face it... they do what they do incredibly well. And obviously, the songs speak for themselves. And yes, Henley and Frey are both dickheads, but very talented ones. Timothy Schmit is one of the most underrated members of any classic rock band alive out there right now.

Tito forked out $185 for the show last night and sat in the 7th row. When he and Glenn Frey are done with their "peaceful easy feeling" he's going to write a review of the show.

Good decision, Tito! Looking forward to hearing the review.

Here's a really sketchy Youtube of their last song of the night in San Antonio. The camera police were really watching things, so the video is shit, but the audio is not bad:

So is just being Don Fucking Henley. Wish we could say Joe Walsh was aging well too, but the poor dude never really had the market cornered on youthful appearance anyway.

Actually, from where I was Henley has aged. You can tell he's in the 60 range. Frey didn't look bad and Walsh looks the same but he's always looked like hell. LOL. Schimdt has aged too.

One thing that does not seem to have aged is their voices. Their vocal harmonies are as good as ever. They put on an unbelievable show, and the music sounds just like it did on the recordings.

Joe's the man though. You know how much bourbon and whiskey he had to pound to get those crags? Guy's a true man
